maximum dose metformin?

Anyone know maximum dose of metformin you can take? I am on 850g twice a day.

I think its 2500mg BUT DO CHECK WITH THE GP/GYNAE WHEN YOU SEE THEM AS THEY DETERMINE THE DOSAGE FOR YOU.
