It probably differs between infertility clinics but my first appointment was just a form filling exercise and test booking time. I had scheduled blood tests (day 2 and day 21) and HSG, DH was told to do a couple of sperm tests. The blood/sperm tests we'd already done with GP but we had to do again.

Good luck btw.

Please don't worry - if there is something wrong then this will give you the chance to do something about it. You should have a chat, and go through a complete medical history, and probably arrange some tests, depending on why you have been referred. Has your GP done any tests? The first two are normally a sperm test and a hormone test (from a blood sample) to make sure that you're ovulating.

There are lots of us on here who have lovely DCs after going through infertility. It's a hard road, but there is a lot of support on Mumsnet.

CKC - I don't think I had to take DH as they could have given me the forms and instructions (?!) for his tests. Maybe ring and check (I think my letter actually said it wasn't necessary for him to go).

If I can give you some hope. My appointment was about a year ago. I am 39+2 weeks pregnant today.
