?
What will he do?
What will he ask?
What tests will they want and why will they do them?

Been trying for 2 years with nothing to show for it!

Are you TTC or were you trying for 2 years for an appt?! Is it a fertility specialist? We had TTC for a about 2 or 3 years before our GP referred us to an assisted conception unit. The 1st meeting was really about what tests were required (eg sperm test for man and I had blood tests and a laparoscopy), to rule out possible reasons for lack of baby yet. You might not get tests there and then though.

He'll probably want you to come back for blood tests (seem to recall they have to be on certain days of your cycle). He'll want your dh/p to do give a sperm sample (may or may not be there and then - probably at a later date). There'll be lots of questions about lifestyle and medical history.

Might well want to do a lap&dye, and will pencil in a date for that.

You're unlikely to get any answers there and then though, I'm afraid.

Good luck Deanychip, you won't get an answer there and then but at least you are on your way to some answers!

Don't be offended if/when he does a chlamydia test. I was told it had to be done before I could be referred for a hysterosalpindogram (sp?) (where they squirt dye into your tubes). He'll do a general internal examination as well.
