Hi everyone! Hubby and I are desperately broody and have been for a few years. We're hoping to TTC later this year, we're having to wait til Hubby finishes his degree as we just can't afford to have a baby whilst he's a student. Am wanting to come off the pill round about May, and hopefully TTC about Nov/Dec. Want to come off the pill a few months early as I've been on it for over 14 yrs, and would like to know what its like to have normal periods!

Be nice to know if anyone else is in a similar situation.

Im still here...kind of! Does it count that IF we finally decide to go for it, next year would be the best time to try?

Lame, I know.

Anyway, hope this helps reduce the echos. I normally just read, rather than post.

Hobnob76 · 11/09/2009 21:35

I'm still here and might be here longer than I planned as Hubby isn't sure whether he'll be finishing uni in Feb or May now. So that might mean putting TTC plans on hold

Glad I am not alone!

Honey - We are waiting to the New Year to start. For many many reasons! But if not pg in first 2 cycles I have to 'wait' until May to avoid very full months (birthdays/anniversarys/events etc).

Hobnob - sorry your plans have been delayed! You never know we may end up on the same bus together!! Hang in there!!!!

MrsPigeon · 12/09/2009 18:03

hi, I'm still here, but because I'm not actually doing much about TTC haven't got much to post. I have started keeping a record of my temperatures though, hoping that by the time we start TTC I'll have an idea about when I ovulate. Also makes me feel like I am actually doing something. Am reading up on it and doing FF, it is fascinating stuff. (To me, anyway. DH? Not so fascinated tbh.)

Hobnob: sorry to hear things are on hold for a bit longer. It's so frustrating not just to be able to start. But the months will go quicker than we expect - after all, this thread started in Feb and now it's September!

Bebejones: looks like we'll be TTCing at the same time too, I think we are also going to start in the New Year - Sept 2010 would be nice...

redtent · 12/09/2009 18:59

I'm tentatively poking my nose in here.

I've 3 kids and we're waiting to TTC for no 4. I feel very broody though! I'd love to be able to arrange things so that the Maternity leave falls at the least busy times of year for my job...however we've never fallen first try and it took 30 cycles the first time....so I dunno!!

Anyway..Hello and gosh someone tell me it's okay to feel broody and not throw the plans to wait out of the window!

(There's some Study ongoing here too that we'd like to be mostly completed...!)

redtent · 12/09/2009 19:00

ps- have been using FF for years. Two of my pregnancies were charted and I knew I was preg because of the charts

Charting now but not trying

HoneyPetal · 12/09/2009 20:15

A bit off topic...but Redtent, are you named for The Red Tent? Its one of my favourite books.....

bebejones · 12/09/2009 20:38

I am also charting!! I like being super organised. DH always joked that when we were TTC our DD it was the most organised sex of his entire life!! TTC#2 will be worse, we are planning to gives Shettles a go & try for a boy! I am convinced already that it will not work! But hey ho, worth a try!!

Was told last week that I am vit B12 & folic acid deficiant so am on big dose folic acid tablets & B12 injections! Was planning on starting folic acid next month anyway but now it's all going to be monitored! Even though that isn't down to TTC plans it still almost feels like I am doing something IYSWIM!!

Hobnob76 · 12/09/2009 22:57

bebejones we might end up on the same bus, it'd be nice to be together, I find some of the TTC threads so scary and confusing!

MrsPidgeon I can't believe where this year's gone! Hubs and I decided on our TTC plans in Jan this year, it seem to have flown since then. When I started this thread I never thought that there would be so many of us waiting.

redtent hi and welcome! It is fine to feel broody, I am everyday!

OP posts:
bebejones · 16/09/2009 09:19

Feeling a bit low as DH has said that unless our financial situation improves drastically (or shows signs of improvement) by Jan then we will delay TTC! I know he is right, but can't help feeling rubbish about it. And it's not like I can do it without him!! Stupid credit crunch!!!!

MrsPigeon · 16/09/2009 17:51

sorry to hear that bebejones - it's so frustrating having to wait, but maybe a few extra months now will pass quicker than you think? It is really annoying for you though. Not much comfort to give but just wanted to say I sympathise!

bebejones · 16/09/2009 19:27

There is so much going on at the moment that I am trying to be optamistic about the 'state of things'!! He has conceeded that if he knows that things will be improving within the first couple of months then there is (and I quote) 'no harm in trying'! So who knows?! Think he changes his mind daily, and at least I have my DD to occupy me, just didn't want too big a gap!

MrsDmamee · 17/09/2009 20:45

Hi all..its been a while since ive been on....i suppose im ofically TTC..But DH is away on a college orientation on other side of the country!!! and im beginning to wonder if we will have time for a new baby if we dont even have time to ttc..busy time of year i suppose, september..with DS1 back to school and DS2 starting playschool and DH

redtent · 18/09/2009 18:32

HoneyPetal yes...I have a namesake in it and it's one of my favourite books. I am however contemplating a name change as I think someone may know my username and I want to post some stuffffff......

argh..seems a nightmare to keep secrecy with the internet and all that!

We've had a chat today about the future, jobs, kids etc...was good.

As for waiting because of money issues- sorry to hear how frustrated you are bebjones. Clearly money is a worry I know. There is however no perfect time to have a baby and in my experience they get more expensive as they grow up rather than when they're little. The kit you actually need is really not that much.....whereas once they hit 2 clothes shoot up in price and then there's headphones for school and kit and trips (we had a load of letters home today....)

I hope that your dh has ore confidence that things will be doable- sooooon!

will post again...going to contemplate what I want to be known...given that someone knows my username!!

bebejones · 18/09/2009 21:48

I think I might have nearly won my DH round, after all we already have pretty much all essential kit for a newborn/small baby already....only difference would be boys clothes if we have a boy that is! Plus I know that things will not be this bad this time next year which is when #2 would be arriving if I got PG straight away!! SIL has been nagging about having more this evening...maybe I can wear him down!!!

redtent · 18/09/2009 23:02

ooh good News! He'll soon come round!

Hobnob76 · 03/10/2009 21:48

Hello all!

I see this thread has died! Am I the only one left ?

Not been on for a while because my laptop died.

OP posts:
bebejones · 04/10/2009 12:42

I am still here, been on holiday!! Nothing to report though!

Muser · 04/10/2009 16:56

Oh hey, this thread is for me! We're hoping to start next month. I want to start right now but no deal from the husband. He's said Nov/Dec time. I've had my coil removed and just waiting until we can start. Got my period now and feeling a bit sad really. I want to be trying!

Hobnob76 · 04/10/2009 19:24

Hi and welcome Muser, this is definately the place for you my dear! I'm hoping to be trying Dec/Jan time ish.

OP posts:
bebejones · 04/10/2009 19:45

Oooh we could all end up on the same bus!! I'm hoping to be TTC Jan/Feb (maybe Dec, depends on AF!!)

Muser · 04/10/2009 20:07

Wouldn't it be fab if we were all pregnant for the New Year? It's a very exciting time but I'm also slightly terrified. It's a huge step to take and none of my friends have babies yet (I'm 30 and was the first to get married, everyone else is now married or doing it next year, I'm sure babies will appear soon!).

MrsPigeon · 05/10/2009 10:12

Hi all and welcome redtent and Muser. Muser I totally agree on the terrified/ exciting thing - I veer between being desperate to start trying and horrified I'm even contemplating something so grown up! I'm the same age as you and my DH is a bit older, our friends have started having babies in the past couple of years and now there are babies everywhere which increases the broodiness!

I would love to be pregnant for the New Year. Be odd to have a sober one though

Hope you're all well - I've finally got to something approaching a normal cycle after my 6-week ones which is nice - really odd having period pain again though, after ten symptom-free years on the pill. I feel like a moody teenager again, it's great

Muser · 05/10/2009 19:27

Hi MrsPigeon. I used to be on the pill but not for as long as you, it was nice coming off it but I miss the light periods and being able to skip them when I felt like it! I'm sure you'll be back to normal in no time.

Muser · 05/10/2009 19:28

Oh and I know about the increased broodiness thing! Although my friends haven't started yet I swear everyone else in the world is pregnant or has babies! And our entire family keep doing the "nudge nudge, so...." thing. The pressure!
