Hi all,

AF arrived on Sunday so now if we are successful this cycle and it's as long as this last one baby would be due early December 2009. Anyone else?

Hi Rtuff - I've only used OPK's for one cycle (the current one). I tested from day 6 through to day 16 and never got a positive . Not sure whether I haven't ov'd, or I've ov'd really really late or they don't work. I'm hoping its the latter. I used cheap ones from ebay but I understand the digital ones are a bit more reliable

Hi smallships Fingers crossed for Friday for you

SmallShips · 04/03/2009 15:20

Hi TSM... fancy seeing you here .

Not holding much hope for Friday, pretty sure period is on its way. I'm crampy, my back aches and i had a small bit of spotting about 5 days ago also my ebay cheapies have said BFN for the past couple of days too. I'm testing on Saturday with a branded test if i haven't come on by then!

Good luck everyone!

oh and would also like to know more about the OPK's thanks for asking Rtuff.

MrsJoeMcIntyre · 05/03/2009 09:14

Finally AF arrived yesterday, so CD2 for me today! Two more of my friends announced they are pg yesterday.

yumyum73 · 05/03/2009 09:20

Well I used OPK's when TTC DS and only once in three months i got an LH surge BUT i could have been using them at the wrong time as i was really clueless about my cycle back then... DS was actually conceived 2 months after i quit using the OPK.
Now i'm trying for baby no.2 i used the CB 7 pack OPK and I got two days with a smiley face so i made sure i grabbed Hubby to BD... anyway I thought I came on yesterday (pinkish stain) but no bleed today, had a few cramps last night and i'm confused as to whether it's implantation or AF cramps? Will have to wait and see... BTW the CB 7 stick digital test sticks aren't cheap but worth it if they work and very very easy to use.

MrsJoeMcIntyre · 05/03/2009 10:29

Oooh yum yum, fingers crossed for you.

MrsJoeMcIntyre · 05/03/2009 11:32

I said I was going to take things as they come, but I find that already I can think of nothing else but being pregnant.

And this is only cycle one!

Rtuff · 05/03/2009 12:17

I been using opks since day 8 now on day 16 and still no +ive, i've been using the ones from babymad.co.uk, should i carry on using them till i get a +ive or give up with them??

gingerwine · 05/03/2009 12:30

Hi everyone. Not posted for a while as trying not to think too much about TTC!! It's not working though. Johnson's baby oil advert keeps coming on TV with really cute baby!! Been using OPKs and no positive yet. To be honest feeling a bit fed up and have managed to convince myself I am going through early menopause!! (Am 37). I know I am being silly but it's so easy to start obsessing about getting pregnant. As you can tell Mrs JM I can think of nothing else either!!

georgimama · 05/03/2009 12:31

Have you just been using them for the one month Rtuff? I have no experience of them so can't atest to their reliability, but not all women ovulate every month. I am certain I don't.

Have you been to your GP for some blood tests? May be worth considering.

georgimama · 05/03/2009 12:33

I too am starting to obsess. It didn't help that we finally put DS into a bed this weekend, so the cot was taken down and put away.

I don't by any stretch of the imagination have a baby in the house anymore, and I want one!

Rtuff · 05/03/2009 12:35

I've used Clearblue opk's before and they had a +ive but i've never used the cheaper ones so am wondering if they actually work??

wasabipeanut · 05/03/2009 12:42

Rtuff - I use cheapies of Zoom Baby and they do work. It might be that you just missed your surge.

Have you had any other signs of ov like changes in CM, temp or any crampiness?

Rtuff · 05/03/2009 12:46

I don't think i could have missed it as i started testing as soon as AF finished, haven't had any other obvious signs but then i haven't been temping so not sure about that one... maybe i'll keep going just incase i ovulate a bit late??...

wasabipeanut · 05/03/2009 12:57

Yes, later than expected ov is one explanation. However, even thought you are testing every day you could stil miss it. Surges are really short in some women including me.

I can get a positive at about 11am and a negative at 4pm the same day. The notion that it lasts for a day or two isn't always the case.

Do you test at the same time every day?

Rtuff · 05/03/2009 13:25

I always do it at 11am and then again at 7pm, just in case i do miss it... Also bd-ing every other night just in case, so fingers crossed we get the right time even if it doens't show up on the opk's...

yumyum73 · 05/03/2009 13:29

Oh well mystery over, have started to bleed. Am strangely relieved (and disappointed of course) but was making myself go crazy with how much i was obsessing over my cycle.

Thanks MrsJoeMcIntyre maybe cycle 2 will be lucky for both of us
