Hi all,

AF arrived on Sunday so now if we are successful this cycle and it's as long as this last one baby would be due early December 2009. Anyone else?

Hi Liah

TTC#6 - Wow that's amazing.

I do think big families are great - my best friend has 5. Left it a bit late though myself as am TTC#1 but already on my 30's.

Hope everyone is having a bood weekend so far

Tillyscoutsmum · 28/02/2009 13:39

Hi to everyone

Well - despite not getting any positive OPK's, we have done what we can (iyswim ) and will now be on the 2 ww. I'm not confident about this month on the basis I'm not sure if I have ovulated but its been fun trying

Hope everyone else has a good weekend

willowthewispa · 28/02/2009 15:45

I don't understand most of the acronyms

We had unprotected sex once a couple of weeks ago, not really trying but not avoiding iyswim... Anyway period was a week late so took a pregnancy test this morning (was negative) and period started this afternoon - typical! After a bit of an emotional chat this afternoon, me and DP decided we would start trying properly, which if my calculations are correct could mean a mid-December baby.

My cycles are quite irregular though and I have no idea when I ovulate

fatandiknowit · 28/02/2009 16:02

Hi Willow.

Here's a brief run through of acronyms for you

UCL - Usual cycle length
CD - cycle day
AF - auntie flo (period)
TTC - trying to conceive and then what number baby
BD - Baby dancing
EWCM - egg white cervical mucus

not sure if there are any more around on this thread....

I have no idea when I ovulate either! Also my cycles seem to be getting shorter so I am going to invest in some ovulation sticks ofrom ebay to figure that one out.

willowthewispa · 28/02/2009 16:30

Thanks fatandiknowit! Guess that means mine is:
TTC#1, cycle 1, UCL 26-40, CD 1

(I think!)

ray81 · 28/02/2009 18:51

Hi can i join i would like a Dec baby!!!

Tilly if you have a 24 day cycle you could Ov before CD10 as some poeple have a 16 day Lutuel Phase (lp), so it is posible that you missed it this month. You also need to be careful that you LP isnt too short as if it is it wont give the egg enough time to inbed so carry on using the OPKs if nothing this month then start testing earlier next month.

I am temping to which actually tells you exactly when you Oved as your temp rises the day after Ov i would recommend it.

Ok TTC2 Cycle 50 UCL 28-35 CD5 . And yes you have read that right we have been TTC2 for 5 yrs. !!!!

Hi ray - wow 5 years Hope this if your lucky month

I started testing on CD 6 through to 15. I'm a bit concerned because there is a history of early menopause in our family (mum was 37, grandmother 38). I'm 34 and am hoping that skipping ovulation is not an early sign of early menopause No other symptoms though so hopefully the opk's were just a bit dodgy.

nickytwotimes · 01/03/2009 20:22

Hello.
I am a TTC virgin.
AM on day 1 of my cycle having got my hopes up last month. I have one ds atm who is 2.6. We have our house up for sale and I was as sick as a dog when pg with him, so this is probably insane, but, hey-ho.

I have taken the liberty of adding my self to the list.

Hi

Would really like to join this thread. I'm TTC#2 cycle 1 CD36 and DPO7 UCL 38-42.

I am obsessed at googling everything i can about signs to look out for when TTC and have no idea why i'm stressing so much since i'm blessed with DS. My brain is on complete overdrive so i can't sleep properly and i'm miffed that i never charted my cycle length and changes properly so i would have a clearer idea of what i'm doing. Am using OPK's so fingers crossed it'll will work.

Babydust to everyone x

cyphercat · 02/03/2009 12:27

hi does anybody know having cold or infection in the chest would influence the normal timing of ovulation? I ask as I have quite a bad chesty cold and not feeling very well for a week now..

nickytwotimes · 02/03/2009 14:03

cypher, I don't know, but I do know that when I am ill or stressed, my peiod comes much sooner. Don't know if ovulation is also affected, but maybe?

wasabipeanut · 02/03/2009 14:47

I think that you have to pretty ill for ovulation to be seriously affected. Even if you don't release the egg when you usually do I think your body just retries a day or two later- if you still used OPK's then you would see another LH surge.

cyphercat · 02/03/2009 15:32

okay thanks. I'm having temperatures as well and it's almost been a week, so I was a bit afraid it might affect it. I'm just going to try my ovulation sticks! thanks for the response.

Tillyscoutsmum · 02/03/2009 20:58

Well - I'm just in the horrible time of over analysing every little twinge within a metre radius of my uterus I've had like a dull ache there for the last day or so - almost like ovulation/period pain Surely I can't be ovulating on day 16 of a 24 day cycle ?? Can I ?? And hopefully, my cycle can't get even shorter? Can it ??

Stressed ? Moi ?
