Hi everyone

I will be taking Clomid tonight for the first time and have read somewhere on here that taking cough medicine helps.

Is there a particular one to take?? Off to the chemist at lunchtime.

Many thanks
amelied

Hi amelied,

I would personally avoid although there is anecdotal evidence that taking cough medicine with guaifenesin in it is supposed to thin out cervical mucus.

Clomid is often given if there is a problem with ovulation, is this the case with yourself?. At the very least you should be monitored whilst on clomid as it is quite powerful stuff. No monitoring is a no-no as you will have no way of knowing whether its doing what its supposed to. It can also cause an exaggerated rise in luteinising hormone (LH) which is why it should be prescribed with a degree of caution. Clomid's main function is to make the ovaries work harder. The usual maximum time on this treatment is six months.
