Implantation bleeding or an early AF?

Hi - Any advice please? I'm feeling confused as I've started bleeding on day 16 which for me is exceptionally early - AF is normally every 27/28 days (apart from last month when the flu delayed it). And it does seem to be very dark - though there is some bright red blood as well - (sorry for gory detail).

Could this be implantation bleeding? I was pregnant last year and had a mmc but didn't have implantation bleeding then - is it possible to have it when you didn't before? Or unfortuntely this might be that my cycle is totally confused by having flu .

i'm not sure but i think implantation bleeding would happen later on then that if you ov on day 14.

maybe someone else will come along with more of a clue.

Thanks for the reply DA - I think i ovulated around day 10 as i did a test then but saying that this does seem heavy enough to be AF. I think it probably is - just have to kee trying - and not tell DH whn I "sponteously" want sex......
