Hi girls, i need to pick your brains....had a mmc in sept and had a d&c to remove remaining tissue. Was told to expect period in 4-12 however im still waiting.........
Went to the hospital for a scan and they said my womb was healthy and had plenty of follicles.
I have just move to dubai and without a visa i cant get any medical help (should be about 4 weeks)
So before i go stir crazy, worrying that ill never had another period or indeed a baby can any of share your experiences of this. Thanks from a stressy barbie!

You cannot get any medical help in the meantime?.

A lack of periods may be due to a condition called polycystic ovaries or problems with the thyroid gland. Both should be checked for via blood tests (and in the case of polycystic ovaries an internal ultrasound to see the state of the ovaries and uterine cavity).

If they had told you there were plenty of follicles did they elaborate on this at all?. Multiple follicles on the ovaries can be indicative of PCO. It can be treated.

thankyou...the only way to get help is to pay private on a visitor visa and it will cost. If i thought it was something serious i would of course pay but first wondered if anyone else had a happy ending to tell me.
They didnt say anything other than the womb was healthy???

Had a mmc a year and half ago with d&c. Periods came back quickly - within a month, but were very irregular for months. Ended up seeing consultant who told me it can take 3-6 months for your hormones to go back to normal following mmc (although some women are fine and can conceive within a month of mc - prob depends on age and bunch of other stuff). Anyway, did take me a year to conceive again, plus a lot of stress as was misdiagnosed with PCOS by one doc, then did all the fertility tests possible, which showed that I was fine and no PCOS, etc. Could be good idea to do blood tests and scan to check whether you are ovulating and if there are any hormonal imbalances, PCOS, etc. Sorry about your mmc, but keep hope, it just might take longer than you expect for your body to recover, and it's not very helpful reading about all these women who conceive within a month of mc and make you wonder if everything is ok with you. Good luck.

I cant advise on your exact situation but I can say that when I came off the pill I didnt have a period for 18 months and then only sporadically. They couldnt find anything out of the norm on scans either - My happy ending (I hope xxx) is that I am now nearly 29 weeks pregnant with a very wanted little girl.

I hope this helps put your mind at rest for the time being. But do continue to press for investigations when you can as the stress you are under right now wont help you hormonally. Good luck xxxxxx

Thankyou girls, finally some good news....having googled myself silly over the last few days and being so far from home i spent most of the day in tears. I will get to the gynae as soon as i can and in the mean time i will indulge in all the things i cant do while pregnant
