TMI :s Nipple Pain! Plz help!

hi everyone, well my period is a week late which has happened before and i have not been pregnant, but yesterday and today my nipples have been absoulte agony i have been crying for about 20 mins with the pain this afternoon! it feels like they are being cut or somthing its horribe. i never ever get this before my period, sometimes my breasts feel heavy and they do now, but what does this mean thanks for any replies!

still sore and wondering if any new ppl have signed in that could help baby dust to everyone

I'm not completely sure, but with my first pg my first sure signs were REALLY sore boobs, nipples included!! I haven't had just the nipple pain but my sympathy is with you, it's pretty bloody painful!!
My only advice - and don't do it if you aren't sure - is that even if you were pg you can take paracetamol...So you could take some to take the edge off the pain? If you are pg these sorts of things tend to calm down within a few days so hopefully it'll get better.
Hope you are feeling better today - you could always talk to GP for advice too.

hi thanks i was starting to wonder if i was just strange lol! Well not so painful today maybe only for about half an hour or so.... did first response test this morning and was negative so perhaps just new PMS symptoms ..... anyway hope everyone else is ok

ciaobella, my friend had really painful boobs like you've described and it was later diagnosed as Raynards' (SP?) syndrome - its something to do with the blood circulation to the area and its much worse when they are cold. She used to get it when undressing for the shower, so would steam up the bathroom before getting undressed.

I'm sure she also mentioned something about breastwarmers but no idea where they would come from! Perhaps you could line your bra with a scrap of fleece or something?
