I have pcos and am on metformin and I do ovulate. Just wondered, has anyone here with confirmed pcos (as opposed to just thinking you have it) conceived naturally without medical intervention or drugs?

Yes, I have conceived naturally both times, have one ds and am currently pregnant. Have never been on any drugs etc for the PCOS. However my periods have always been regular, have no idea about my ovulation as as far as I can remember this has never been checked.

yup, me. I was confirmed PCOS in April 2007, had come off pill etc for all the investigations, sat there in the consultant's office being told I might have trouble conceiving and it turned out I was pregnant at the time. Unfortunately I lost that pregnancy, but conceived again after only a couple of months following the miscarriage, again with no assistance (other than DP's obviously ). DS born April 2008.

yes someone i know has three times no problem. she wasn't on medication and is in her 20s though.

I do not have pcos but have endometriosis with chocolate cysts. Was told i may have problems but concieved accidentally naturally

I did a couple of times when I was in my 20s although I miscarried quite early, but two of my friends also have PCOS and have conceived naturally in their 30s so it's definitely not unusual.

yes I did have a dd born 2005 but have had several miscarriages. my periods went from non existent to regular but long cycles (30-35 days)
I feel that the successful pregnancy happened when I was at my healthiest was very fir and my weight was well under control.
I seem to manage to get pregnant but not successfully carry the pregnancy otherwise

but of course there might be other reasons for miscarriage
having said that am currently very near my pre successful pregnancy weight and my cycles are at 28days don't know what that means, might try again

Yes, I conceived DS naturally but we hadn't been using any contraception for 2.5 years even though we weren't actually trying.

I'm currently 34 weeks pregnant with DS2 who was conceived after TTC for 11 months. Only 4-5 cycles in that whole time and only ovulated twice! I count myself very lucky
Never MC'd before - that I know of

I conceived my son naturally - but not before I lost over two stone, which helped me to ovulate regularly.

Hangingbellyofbabylon · 10/02/2009 21:44

I had 2 miscarriages, then had two healthy girls on Metformin. Am now 9 weeks pregnant and have not taken any drugs - I did however have some treatment in the Bowen technique which resulted in me having normal 28 day cycles for the first time in my life. Really cool, I think the Bowen made me well enough to be able to conceive drug-free. I'm still nervous and will pleased to get to 12 weeks but so far so good.

hb wishing you a happy and safe pregnancy
