Weird things when coming off the pill

Hi all - can I ask you all something? I can't talk about this in RL as I'm not yet admitting we're ttc, but I took my last pill on NYE. I am a bit dreading my real periods as they were the reason I went on the pill n the first place.

Around the middle of Jan I was feeling really bloated and crampy and achey - exactly how I used to feel pre AF in the old days, but no AF for ten days since. I'm coming up to due date now, and the cramping and aching has returned along with terrible moods.

I've also had (SORRY) lots of bowel movements this month, a sort of floaty head, and an aching ankle...though most likely due to recent sprain

Seriously, I do feel mighty odd, and I'd really like to hear what others experienced when they came off the pill to compare.

I came off in July and waited 2 months for AF. In the meantime I had my usual PMT symptoms - moods, tears, cramps. It may be your body adjusting. Could you be pregnant?

Hi Minxie - we did BD one time this month, pretty sure at the wrong time, really holding off to time it properly from AF (also life has been complex this month) so I doubt it. I really don't remember period pains being like this constantly before I went on the pill - one night about ten days ago I was kept awake by the cramps. I think you're probably right that it is the adjustment process - guess I'm surprised it's been this extreme. Were your symptoms in evidence through the two months or just at the time you were expecting AF?

I had two sets of PMT symptoms but no AF. Like I was going to come on but it just didn't happen.

When AF arrived it was (brace yourself...TMI) very painful, very heavy and huge clots. I soaked through every half hour (even through the night) and spent two days crying

Oh, goodie! Actually, that wouldn't surprise me and would fit in with how I've been feeling. Pre-pill my periods were really heavy anyway and I've already stocked up on super-absorbency products. Probably not the month to trial mooncup then...

Just wish AF would arrive so I could get rid of this awful feeling.

Thanks so much!

I was always heavy too and went to mooncup, it was much better. I didn't use it at first with the heavy one off the pill but when I did I preferred it. If you use mooncup....TMI alert.....I advise taking wet wipes with you as it can be messy when out in public
