Has anyone else taken Cerazette?

I've been on it for nearly two months and it is ideal in every way apart from they are making me feel like I am on the verge of having a breakdown!

Do they make anyone else feel really bad tempered and emotional? I can't stop flying off the handle.

I look like this and I want to look like this

Yes. I was fine on it. But had huge problems on Micronor. So I'ld try swapping to another mini-pill, see if that suits you better.

PerArduaAdNauseum · 03/02/2009 10:50

I tried for 2 months - because I was already - and didn't get on with them at all. Moodswings weren't helped, and I ended up bleeding 23 days in a row... Is there a reason you're on progestogen (sp?) only? Or would you be better on mixed?

ChiefMangosuthuButhelezi · 03/02/2009 10:52

I get migraines so she said the mini pill would be better as oestrogen apparently makes migraines worse.
I think I might just stop taking it, it also seems to make my asthma worse. I think that's because I feel so stressed out.

Migraine - me too . Shop around for other varieties then? And don't let them sign you up for an implant or similar until you're sure the hormone's are right for you. Good luck!

ChiefMangosuthuButhelezi · 03/02/2009 10:57

I did once have an implant and it was brilliant, but they did have trouble getting it out.
I really wish I didn't feel so uptight because I haven't had a single bleed since I started on it, which is great.

I took cerazette and it was great in every way except my moods too. In fact it left me murderous - I would get so upset, I would be totally irrational then start screaming the house down - not my most attractive moments
I came off in July as ttc and it took 3 months before AF arrived. I too had no bleeds on it. Since coming off I'm back to my (usually) sane self

ChiefMangosuthuButhelezi · 03/02/2009 11:24

I'm going to stop taking it as of now. I'm only on it because dh is allergic to latex, and he hates condoms. Oh, and it's free.

Hi. Another one here that HATED Cerazette. Would rather chop my own arm off than take that poison again. Left me feeling suicidal, tearful, on the verge of a nervous breakdown. Ugh. Horrible, horrible memories of it.

Hope you find something else that suits you better. Maybe the non hormone coil?

Hope you are feeling soon. xx

Blondeshavemorefun · 06/02/2009 15:58

i was on cerazette for 2 years, never had periods on it

came off just after NY and still waiting for AF

3mths hope its not that long for her to arrive

ilovetochat · 06/02/2009 16:00

i have been taking it for a month, have now been bleeding for 9 days (lightly) and have had headaches and been teary. not sure how longg to give it?

Blondeshavemorefun · 06/02/2009 16:15

my doctor said to give a new pill 3mths to settle down, but obv if you are unhappy then go back and have a chat with him

ilovetochat · 06/02/2009 16:30

will do thanks blonde.

piratecat · 06/02/2009 16:37

i take it and it suits me well. no periods, it's great!!

i know that i may be one of the lucky ones on the period front tho.

it did give me spots on my back after about 6 months, but they went away/

bluebump · 06/02/2009 16:48

I have been on Cerazette for 3 months and have found it has finally settled down. Around the time I am due a period I get terrible moods but that dies off and I never actually have a period. I have got to put up with it as it's the only pill I can take and my DP moans about condoms and I SO don't want another baby any time soon. I honestly thought I wouldn't last on it longer than a month.

Blondeshavemorefun · 06/02/2009 17:34

so when will af appear

im not desperate for a baby, but when af appears, i will then be able to suss out my cycle

didnt bother not having periods all the time -saved a fortune on tampax

Pinkchampagne · 06/02/2009 17:44

I was on it for around a year, but came off it because I couldn't put up with the irregular bleeding. I had 3 periods in the space of 2 weeks just before I switched pills & it was getting me down.

Didn't notice any major mood changes, but there were times I felt more sensitive than normal over often quite silly things.
I am now on Micronor.

Minxie1977 · 06/02/2009 23:02

Blondes - could you be PG? It took 3 months for AF to turn up for me and I'd been on Cerazette about 2 years. I never had a regualer cycle in my life though so I'm not the best one to gauge by

Blondeshavemorefun · 09/02/2009 11:25

tech i guess i could be as havent used conception, but sure im not as would feel different/put weight on etc

just wish my body would sort its self out

so easy on the pill - 15years of periods every 4 weeks, then 2 years of nothing while on cerrezette

will give it a few months to settle then go and see my doctor

guess i had visions of coming off the pill and about a week or so later having a period - but hey ho

lemonmoon · 09/02/2009 15:20

I was on cerazette for over four years and loved it - never had a problem with it, no periods at all, came off and got up the duff three months later. But different mini pills use different kinds of synthetic progesterone, so this one just might not agree with you.

Blondeshavemorefun · 09/02/2009 15:26

lemon moon - did you have a period before you got pregnant?

Claire236 · 09/02/2009 19:41

Hated Cerazette. Took 3 months for AF to appear after I stopped taking it. Never again.

brettgirl2 · 09/02/2009 19:44

I got PG immediately after coming off it. It didn't actually stop my periods though, it just made them into one continual one.
