Anyone else out there ttc with irregular cycle between 35-42 days?

Hi I am ttc dc3 at the moment. My ds is 11 and my dd is 6. My periods are now much more irregular than when I was trying to conceive my other two children. I am finding it hard to conceive. Should i try the opk is it worth it with such an irregular cycle?

hey im more than that ive hit 46 over the last few months, cd 1 today again!

I have ranged from 29 reg to mid 30s and now 46 days - a few mc inbetween though that may be responsible fro a few thinngs!

I dont know if you have seen my other posts but im trying everything this month opk particularly from cd 11 right through and also charting cm and temps daily! and trying preseed.

i havent sucessfully concieved yet, what cd are you??

Would not suggest you use OPK's at all if your cycles are irregular. These kits read LH; if the amount of LH you are producing is higher than normal (a common problem with polycystic ovaries for instance) the kit will read that level and give you a false reading.

A "normal" cycle is a cycle length of between 21 and 35 days OR with less than 4 days of variation from month to month. You would be seen as having an irregular cycle.
If your periods are irregular you are not as likely to be ovulating regularly if at all.

If your periods are irregular it is worth having a blood test done sooner rather than later to see what your hormone levels are like. Often such problems are caused by hormonal imbalances (a condition called polycystic ovaries is a common culprit) or thyroid problems.
