Can someone hold my hand, pat me on the head and tell me to stop thinking about it so much?

Okay so cycle #5 of TTC #1 and despite catching ov everytime with lots of BDing nothing is happening. This month I thought F-it I am not going to bother in fact we weren't even going to try due to husbands exams. But then typically this is the month with a lot more ewcm and ovulation 3/4 days early than average and in the end we had sex once on day of ov. So much much less chance than in previous months. Anyhow I am now 8DPO and sat here with incredible "ovulation cramps" I mean they are really painful pinches on my left hand side. I am on day 24 of my cycle and my monitor detected the peak on day 16 so I doubt I missed ovulation the first time but now my brain is working overtime thinking its implantation pains. Except for the fact a duller version of this pain has been part of my life since we started TTC and scans and everything haven't found anything odd so technically this pain although particularly painful today is not hugely unusual for me.

The other thing addling my brain is the fact I have had a horrendous cold the past 4 days and initially I was thinking oh well thats it then no chance this month- then someone pointed out that if the body is fighting off an infection the immunes system may not fight off a fertilised egg implanting and knew of several women who had got pregnant just after being ill. NARGH! Anyhow I know its too early to test. My test date is 31st Jan- next sat (14DPO)- but I may test thursday/see if period arrives (12DPO) as my average luteal phase is 12 days.

Okay anyhow just wanted to ramble my current thoughts. Pats on the heads and "don't be a silly girl" all welcome,

pat, pat, pat, 'don't be silly', you won't have missed the window,

FWIT I did concieve (although with IVF) despite having the most horrendous cold the day after they put them back. I was convinced that it wasn't going to work and had the most miserable 2WW. I did get pains in my side but blamed it on coughing. All I'm saying is you never know!
It is the most rotten time and I remember all the months of trying and falling apart for a day or two with each AF. Keep going girl and be strong. You will get the family of your dreams!

oooh more evidence! Google is not so much my friend on this one. Nargh mustn't overthink. Anyhow a good mate of mine is going through her first cycle of IVF-ICSI this month and so I said she could have my chances this month to add to her own. So yannoo if it doesnt work for me and does for her that's also great.

Well period arrived so my having a cold masterplan didnt work. Probably a good job- had it I would have been advising all TTC-ers to go out and get infected with lurgies and thats never a good idea!
