Just wondering if anybody has used an accupuncturist in Central London who isn't too expensive while ttc that they can recommend.

I have done exactly that - and it was successful too (31 weeks pg now) I also used her for help with sleeping in my first pg and several of my friends have used her for various other reasons. She's also a trained midwife and is a tremendously sympathetic person. Her clinic is about a 5 minute walk from Caledonian Road tube. She's called Alison Courtney and her practice is the Islington Clinic on 0207 700 6161. From memory I think she charges about £35 an hour - although this may have changed.
All the best.

N/thing to add except good luck, chuffed! It worked for me, too. I was TTC DD for 6 months. Went to accupuncture and was pregnant next cycle. Going back to my therapist (not in London, sorry), in June and can't wait.

Bella23 - I had 3 treatments when I was ttc last time. We were going through IUI and were on the 'last chance cycle'. I had 3 lots up to the IUI day. I didn't use her before that for ttc but for insomnia reasons in my first pg. Close friends have used her for pain relief, morning sickness and ttc too - she's helped them all.
I think the reason I like her particularly is because she's a midwife too and so understanding of all the different states women can get themselves into.
I hope chuffed likes her too.....

welshmum - she was lovely - thanks for the recommendation.
I feel very positive about it all now and am sure it will work. I need to have a session a week for 3 weeks and then monitor maybe 2x month then 1x month after 3mths.
Fingers crossed.

chuffed, many many congratulations, very good of you to give us all an update

question from me too...how long were you ttc? and were there any fertility problems like pcos?

how much did she cost?

She is £38 per session and then if you needed any chinese herbs etc they were £7.
I saw her for the first time as soon as my period had finished so basically saw her my whole cycle.
I had been trying for 7mths, no diagnosed problems but have no cycle to speak of and never have. dd took 5mths and didn't actually have a period in that time so after 6mths of trying with 2 periods thought I'd better get a little help.

How amazing Chuffed! Many congratulations for a BFP. I wish i was planning to visit London soon. Definetly would have booked with her too!

Chuffed, you mean you had only 2 AF within 6 mths of TTC? Or let me ask, were you have regular periods?

It seems that accupuncture does help alot. Good luck with the pg and enjoy every bit of it!

yes 2 AF in the 6 mths for this ttc. None in the 5mths of when ttc dd, I think I ovulated on like day 87 or something.
I'm quite convinced that the accupuncture helped.

Chuffed ur AF pattern sounds like us with PCOS. Yes,definetly the accupuncture helped you alot. Where you on any treatment while on accupuncture? Btw, did you notice any ovulation sign say on day 87? For my self, i never seem to pick any sign, even the test book rules. Am sure the accupucture produced a great result on that too.

Keysha, no other treatment, dr's were a bit it'll happen just relax, things will settle down.
I was getting egg white mucus a number of times per cycle but then my cycles were so long that could explain it, my temps would be all over the place as well.

looking back on my chart you can see a clear ovulation as the temp stayed up afterwards but as the temps go up and down all over the place it is almost impossible to predict - we were just 'lucky' that time.

Thankx Chuffed! I know what you mean -it is impossible to tell when ovulating.

Wishing you all the best for the next 8 months! Relax and eat healthy.
