Am 42, 43 this year and would dearly love one more baby.

Just wondered what your opinions were really?

we have 5 dc's and have had 3 losses over the years at different stages.

Had last mc in Dec, and just wondering if it's more likely at our ripe old age

My mum had her last at 46, completely naturally. 42 or 43 is definitely not too old!

KristinaM · 24/01/2009 17:29

i had a baby at 42 then another at 43. both conceived naturally. fell pg on second cycle TTC with first and second was a surprise

why do you think you are too old?

liahgen · 24/01/2009 17:37

I dunno really, maybe cos of the mc and since my first was born 14 yrs ago, have fallen pretty easliy.

Just wondering what the kids are gonna think at the school gates, and whether we'll be around to see them settled and into adulthood i guess.

My youngest is only 21mths so it wouldn't be that much older if i got preg soon.

I always said that no more after 40, but i don't feel that way anymore.

i guess it depends on where your kids go to school but we are not the oldest at the school gate! are you teh oldest mum at toddlers/ nursery?

when you are younger 40 seems really old. i thought I'd be ancient and decrepit by now. but here i am with 2 toddlers, bf, two older ones and a job. still go to the gym and still fancy the pants off grey haired old DH

Blu · 24/01/2009 17:55

I had DS when i was 43, conceived instantly.

Depends on the individual, and I don't think you can draw conclusions from anyone else's experience.

ScottishMummy · 24/01/2009 18:10

if it feels right for you liahgen then it is right age.good luck

giveusabreak · 24/01/2009 18:12

I'm the product of an oops from a 43 year old mother. If you can conceive naturally then you are not too old, by defintion IMHO. GL

catweazle · 24/01/2009 18:30

Had my last one at 43 after 2 mmc at 42.

eleveld · 27/01/2009 10:47

I agree with giveusabreak - if mother nature still lets our bodies do it naturally, then how can it be too old?

I wish you the very best of luck
