When do you think cd 1 was for me?

I've just had a mc, my second in three months, so I'm super keen to ttc again. Emotionally feeling up for it, but I'm having trouble working out when cd1 is. I had the first of my hcg bloods taken yesterday (Thursday), was due to go back for the second set tomorrow, but I've been told I don't need to as they are below 5 already, ie at non pregnant levels. I got a neg on a pregnancy test yesterday too. I started bleeding properly yesterday afternoon at about 3pm, with all the attendant pain etc, but only passed the sac (sorry tmi I really know) this afternoon. When do you think I should assume cd 1 was, the day my hcg was back to normal (yesterday), the day the bleeding started properly (also yesterday) or the day I passed the sac (today)?

I don't expect to get pg straight away, but I just want to monitor my cycle to see if I get back to normal straight away. After my last mc I detected an LH peak exactly 14 days after the mc (it all happened in one day last time) so I reckon I ov'd on cd15, which is normal for me.

Sorry for grossness and rambling.... any ideas gratefully received

When I have had losses I count the first day of the bleeding as CD1.
It doesn't make a lot of difference to me though as I always ovulate considerably later than normal in the frst cycle after a loss.
I'm sorry to hear about what you are going through and I hope you get your happy ending soon.

aw bubble, bless you and thank you How are you? Did your cycle sort itself out in the end? You still ttcing?

Mrshappy, thanks for that, I shall assume yesterday was cd1 then. I'm looking forward to a resumption of normal service pretty soon!

im good thanks head.. driving myself mad as usual but still the same yeah... af arrived after those awful pains at the beg. of the month and now im on cd20 so hopefully into my 2ww. who knows wether AF will arrive or take another 2 months. am abit confused with this ttc lark its all abit hit and miss. am thinking of you and am always here if you need a rant xxxxxxx

HeadFairy · 23/01/2009 20:49

Oh that's good, I hope the 2ww isn't too awful and that you get your bfp at the end. I'm so tempted to take a month off, it must be so amazing to not count days, have no idea what cd you're on and not care when af arrives, but I can't help myself, it's pathetic. I just think what if that was my lucky month and I've just flushed a good egg down the loo. Silly obssessive thoughts eh?

nooo not silly and pathetic (i hope) i am the same. ff says i ovd on day 13 but im paranoid im going to ov later and miss a chance so im driving poor dh mad.

its so difficult when ttc coz u take the time to decide when is the right time and then it takes ages/goes tragically wrong. i think it would be near on impossible to not count days and check for ewcm its part of my daily routine. but if it would make you feel better then perhaps its for the best.

i really really hope that you get a nice sticky bean next.

someone i know in rl got pregnant the following month after a mc. i will keep my fingers crossed for u.

Bubble... I had a mc in October and got pg on the third cycle, so I'm quite hopeful I might not have to wait too long, but I'm aware of how dangerous it is to get too sold on the whole "I'm aiming for a Christmas/New Year baby", so I'm just going to keep going. Like you, I think it would be really hard to ignore all those ov signs. On a positive side, dh did say "well we'd better get down to some serious action in a few weeks then eh?" so at least he's keen

I know what you mean about being paranoid missing a day... I usually plan to bd on cd 13,14,15 and 16, that's what I did to conceive ds... this time I conceived with one pathetic Christmas fumble on cd 15, even if it didn't last. I'm still going to plan on our four day sesh, with a bit of deanna action beforehand to clear out any swimmers that are past their sell by date

Oh head 2 MC so close together how awful. i do hope that this next bean is the 1. I know what you mean i think if i didnt concieve this cycle i would be more upset that my baby isnt due in oct.. glad your DH is up for all the action.. my DH is exhausted and longing for a break but i cant give up just yet
