Clomid and Mood Swings/depression

Hello

I am just starting the first stages of my fertility investigations and have been told if my tubes are not blocked I will probably be prescribed Clomid.

I suffer from really bad hormonal mood swings as it is, sometimes verging on manic behaviour and with great big Lows.

So: my question is, if I am prescribed Clomid what should I expect so far as changes in mood go? Will it be really horrific?

ta in advance

Hi beanieb only have short time before I go out so will be brief - I found clomid has made my moods BETTER I am usually a crabby cow from ovulation onwards and I felt much better on it. No idea why and as this is only my first cycle I cant be too sure it will last! But I was surprised!

Oh - that sounds promising. Perhaps my hormones are so out of whack, the clomid will have a kind of reverse effect

I need to stop worrying about all this and get on with it. I will have a baby

Am back again! Have been reading more online, specifically here and I am still really quite terrified by the prospect of becoming uber-angry and moody.

Do you think it would be worth me talking to my GP about my already existing mood-swings (PMT) and checking if Clomid is the right drug for me?

I am going to be 39 in April, I am running out of time, I don't want to spend the next childbearing year making my OH hate me!

Hi Beanieb,

I'm not talking from much experience at all here, this is my first cycle of clomid. But I ma like you in the way of moods. I'm always irritable and suffer with alot of ups, downs and all over the places. I can be ready to kill someone one minute and crying the next. But............ very surprisingly I have felt great taking clomid so far. Strange I know. I have felt a bit rough side effects but modds have been better than normal. HTH
