Hi am feeling a bit fed up. I am all ready to start my first cycle of donor iui (for second child) and my period is 5 days late so far.

No possibility that I am already pregnant as my partner is a woman (and am a bit tired of that joke from friends).

I am still breastfeeding ds1 and got my periods back 4 months ago and they have been regular 30 day cycles until now.

Feel so sad as I have waited for ages to become fertile again and can't stop obsessing about why I am so late this month.

Bumping for you.

Oh Charlie my heart goes out to you. We are due to start diui, hopefully in April/May and i know when we were trying earlier this year with a known donor and home insems in the month before we started my reglar 28 day cycle went all over the place ranging from 24-38 days!!! Your body can be really cruel when TTC

But good luck with this months IUI. Where are you having treatment? Keep us posted

Thank you for the bump Puzzle and to makingafamily.

I am interested in what you said about your cycles going haywire. I got my period this morning, making it a 35 day cycle. Not sure if that is in the parameters of normal.

I'm with the Homerton, already have one son (2) conceived there. What about you?

I was so down last night, my partner came home and I was crying over my photocopied charts, convinced I'll never get pregnant again. TTC surely does make you feel crazy.

Now I feel optimistic again, booked my 10 day scan this morning. Hate not knowing what day the insemination will be....

Good luck to you too..nice to hear from someone else doing diui.

Yep, we live in Hackney a few minutes away from the Homerton so have been really lucky in that respect. Are you in Hackney?

I wouldnt worry too much about your cycles freaking out but fab that you've now booked your scan

Its lovely to hear sucessful IUI Homerton stories and Congrats on your DS

If you don't mind me asking are you doing medicated cycles and how many IUI's did you have to concieve DS? At the moment i spend my life worrying it will never happen

will type more later (using mumsnet on my phone atm).

Will be doing natural cycles - was really lucky last time and got pregnant first go. I was 33 and am 36 now. The Homerton were great, but really our contact with them was short compared to other people we know.

We are in Hackney too! Do you know about Rainbow Parents? They meet once a month so you could come if you fancied it.

Are you not using a known donor anymore then? Where are you up to with the form filling?

Sorry don't have an answer, I just wanted to wish you lots of luck ttc!

First time WOW, thats fab, hope its the same on your second try too

We've decided to opt for medicated

No, we thought we had every thing sorted with our a known donor (our best friends, who are a gay couple) but after we started we couldn't reach a compromise on the legal stuff as feelings changed so are now buying sperm from the european sperm bank

I've heard about that griup and someone i know attends. we are going to try and make it one month so maybe see you there
