When can my friend test to see if she is pregnant? No idea how cycles etc works, but I have info...

My friend had her last period on 30th Dec, which is when she also started having a holiday romance with a chap who came to stay.

They did the deed about once a day until the last time they did it on 11th Jan, and they weren't always careful (oops).

Her last period finished (conveniently) on 30th Dec and she has a very regular 28 day cycle.

So - as it is now the 19th Jan, can she test or is it still too early? When should she test?

Thanks for any help - we really appreciate it (and it really is for a friend - I'm 32 weeks gone already).

Hi

Cycle dates are calculated from the first day of your period (first day of red blood flow requiring a pad) - does she count her cycles from the start of her period or from the end ? If she counts from the beginning and her cycle is 28 days, then she could probably try a test now. If she counts from the end of her period, then it may still be too early

The earliest she could possibly test is around 7 days before she thinks her period is due with a really sensitive test, such as First Response. However, not all positive results will show up that early - if she gets a negative, it could simply be too early to tell until the day that AF is due.

If she BD'd until Jan 11th and her period STARTED (for instance) on Dec 26th, that means she was probably BD'ing through her most fertile time ...

Hope that helps

Hi Jools... yes it does help - thanks. Am assuming that BD'ing is shagging?!
