Does anyone know if antidepressants affect fertility?

I have been scaring myself looking at scientific studies on the web which said when rats are pumped full of them, then their fertility rates are reduced.

I'm on citalopram and ttc for 6 months now with nothing. I conceived my DS the first month - and I'm wondering if that's what it is.

I can't come off though - would rather have one child than go back there!

Anyone else conceived on citalopram or experienced reduced fertility?

I've only seen them referred to as possibly reducing fertility in some men - could this have been what you saw?

I was on Lustral when ttc no1 and fell pg almost straight away, did miscarry but fell pregnant again 2 months later and now have a healthy ds nearly 4yo. So it didn't make a difference to me.

I was advised to stop taking Lustral when I was pg, was about 5 months pg when I stopped and haven't taken them since. Otherwise I probably would still be taking them - it is scary to stop taking them as you're afraid you will go back to how you were but don't be afraid.

Thanks. Has anyone else got pregnant while on ADs?

I know there's been a big story about it making a diff in men, but I'm worried it might also affect women....?

I've been advised to stay on them unfortunately - would love not to be but hey ho!
