Ibuprofen and TTC ?

I know you can't take Ibuprofen when PG, but I'm in week 1 of the 2WW - have put my back out at the gym and my muscles are in spasm

Have tried hot water bottles, hot baths, paracetamol - nothing is really helping much.

Am I being over-cautious to avoid Ibuprofen ? - or is the gel safer - I have some of that

I broke my leg when 20wks pg and they gave me codeine but it can make you a bit doolally if bad perhaps your dr can prescribe it. Would suggest just taking it at night though!

i did my back in during week 1 of 2ww...am now 13 wks pg. doc said it might be natures way of getting you to take it easy! defo avoid the ibuprofen; you'd never forgive yourself otherwise. persevere with the hot water bottles...good luck!

I don't think you can live life like that. I was ttc for 2 years and started off not doing anything forbidden in the 2WW. Then realised that was a bit silly. Take it if you have to.

I was prescribed Ibuprofen by my GP a few months ago for a shoulder problem. I had told her that I was ttc, she reckoned that it was OK and I was to naive to think otherwise. However, it delayed ov (not told about that side effect, found it out on t'internet and I got pregnant that month. I went on to miscarry at 6 weeks.

As it was my 3rd mc, it probably wasn't the Ibuprofen, but it has scared me sufficiently to avoid it in future and I'm still at my GP for being so woolly about it.

If you can hang on in there Jools, I would.

Thanks

In the end, I took one does last night as I couldn't lie down without pain

Won't have any more though - am managing with paracetamol today and am spotting lots of symptoms
