OPK/HPT "dip-sticks": WHY does the wee have to be room-temperature?

That's it really. I've got a load of the dip-sticks and don't have a problem weeing in a cup anywhere (Tesco's Value disposable cups are flying off the shelves in my town!) BUT for some reason in the instructions it says that you should let the wee cool down to room temperature (which apparently takes about 20 mins).

Now, that's fine at home. I wee in a cup and go back 20 mins later to do the dipping, but we'll be out and about this weekend and while I don't mind carrying a cup in to the bathroom with me (I could park a car in my handbag) I can't very well sit there for 20 mins waiting for the wee to cool down, can I? Nor do I want to leave a cup of wee in the corner for someone else to find!

So - does anyone know why it needs to cool? Can I not just wee in a cup, dip a stick and be done with it?

Thanking you very much in advance!

Bumping for you.

My opk just say the dipstick should be RT not the wee. They are ones off the internet and i have always got a pos opk each month. If it helps i can email the website.

Thanks Spats!

I went back and read the instructions, but it definitely says that the sample and the stick need to be room temp.
I was a devil and dipped anyway, seemed to work fine!
As apparently room temperature is up to 30C, I can't see how it would make that much difference.

I always just weed straight on them, never even bothered using a cup! They worked fine.
