LL just think - this time next week you will be almost 6 weeks

Issy42 · 10/05/2009 23:02

Thanks for telling me that Lottie, it has reassured me. Someone on FF told me her lining was only 9mm at her scan 6 days after ET, so maybe 8 is not so bad.

Well done on not testing and great that you haven't had anymore spotting. I was reading about threatened miscarriages and it said that if you start bleeding you shouldn't even wear tampons, so I'm not sure rummaging around is a good idea.

EMZIB - I had 2 blasts transfered last Saturday so I'm 13dpEC & 8dpET.

Thanks anniemac - lovely of you to pop in and send us positive vibes.

Sorry to hear about your rollercoaster issy, but I completely agree with lottie, there are loads of reasons for temperature dips so as long as it's only one and not a downwards trend and you still get bfp please don't let it freak you out.

I know how you feel lottie, I still remember how long those first 12 weeks feel, but not so long to your scan now . Maybe you need some kind of advent calendar (preferably with chocolate) to count the days down for you. Have I just discovered a gap in the market? It's very difficult explaining the non drinking without being suspicious, being on medication is probably the easiest. but I decided not to have a party for my birthday this week simply because EVERYBODY would have noticed me not drinking and I would have hated to get some 'oh you're not drinking, do you have news' nudge nudge wink wink comments when I'm obviously NOT pg.

I really need to go to bed now, have my scan tomorrow and am v nervous that something will be wrong and they'll tell me I can't start stimms. I'm sooo ready to get going now.

Hello all,

I had my u/s today. There was a clear heartbeat

I'm supposed to be 6.4weeks and the bean measured at 6.1 but considering the hellish start she had I'm perfectly okay with her being a little bit little...and the scans have been known to be out by a day or so. I have to keep on with the estrogen tablets and the progesterone injections (oooow) and have another u/s next Monday

Issy and lottie glad to hear things are still looking good.

Re linings and spotting my lining was only 6.2 when they did IUI. They said it was on the thin side but enough to go ahead. And spotting...well, I had about 2 weeks of it sometimes as heavy as a heavy period -- so lottie, I know it doesn't help to hear someone say 'don't stress'...but just know that it's not over til it's over. And sometimes it's not over even after the bloody lab tells you it is...still can't believe that whole thing

Anyway, here's to a good week for all

Hello everyone. Hope you are all alright.

Well done Heidi. Great news from your scan.

Well done London Lottie. keep up the good work. I'm green with envy but oh so happy for you amd Mr Lottie.

Sorry to be random, but does anyone know if dried cranberries are beneficial to fertility? I seem to be eating quite a lot of them lately and wondered if I could do more harm than good if I eat too many.

Also munching my way through handfuls of pumpkin seeds and sumflower seeds. it's part of my health kick.

KC11 · 11/05/2009 15:46

Go Issy! Those little guys can do it. Have faith yourself and them. Repeat the mantra: "my body is healthy and capable of acheiving and sustaining a healthy pregnancy" - a la Zita West. Positive Mental Attitude. If you beleive it, it'll come true.

ladylush · 11/05/2009 15:51

lol LL - I see pregnancy brain has set in. Assume you mean your scan is May - not March

ladylush · 11/05/2009 15:54

Re. tampons - you shouldn't wear them when pregnant because you might get an infection. It's a pain when you are having bleeding. You're not even supposed to wear them when having a m/c.

duplomania · 11/05/2009 16:49

Congratulations Heidi!! So pleased you got to see a heartbeat and everything's fine

Hope everything will turn out ok for you issy. You're still getting BFPs that's important.

I'm sure cranberries are fine kc11, the only thing they might harm is your teeth. have read about a few foods that might harm fertility like peas, rhubarb and pomegranate. Wonder if there's anything to it, sounds a bit weird to me.

I went to my scan this morning and I have a cyst. bugger. had to do some blood tests and they will call me tonight to let me know if I am allowed to start stimms or have to do another month of downregging. Feeling slightly deflated, I don't seem to even be able to downreg properly..

Issy - gentle congrats for your BFP. STOP symptom spotting and temping!!!!!! - I was freezing through out my first 2 months, I had a total dip in temp. Not an increase during the 2ww.

lottie - not wanting drink is a good sign yay! Morning sickness normally kicks in with earnest about 7wks, as the HCG peaks between 7-9wks. having said that. You might get lucky with no sickness at all - it is one of those double edged swords, reassuring, yet bloody horrible at the same time. 1st PG it lasted until 12wks and I had it mildly at 4pm each day, this time it was all the time, all day, all night.

keep yourself busy, well as busy as poss. you thought the 2WW is bad, the 8month one is worse. We ivf ladies lurch from milestone to milestone, like a battered boxer.

And stop rummaging around with your lady bits, you will wear them out.

flibbertywidget · 11/05/2009 20:23

Heidi - forgot to say congrats on the HB scan... this one sounds like a sticker. Take it easy and good luck for the rest of your PG

duplomania · 11/05/2009 22:01

quick update, won't know my test results until tomorrow morning, and even if they're ok will have to return to clinic for another scan on wed to make sure my lining is thin enough and only then will they tell me if I'm allowed to start my stimms that evening or if it's back to square one. They really know how to keep the suspense up, they do. no idea how I'm meant to plan for anything now .

Thanks for your support lottie, I know you're right and I will try to relax a bit more about it. actually I do feel more relaxed today. I'm just such a control freak, I always like to plan ahead for at least 3 months and am very attached to my diary, so this whole ttc business is driving me crazy as there is no way to control anything.
are you still feeling nauseous? I didn't have any pg symptoms until around 8 weeks last time round, but then the pg sickness hit me really hard. hope you'll be spared it although it can be quite reassuring if nothing else.

I got a call from the clinic today and my bloods are ok. so now I'm just hoping my scan tomorrow will be good and I can start jabbing myself tomorrow night.

Just thought I'd pop in with an update.

DH went for PESA yesterday. It failed completely, and they did a TESA at the same time, which also failed. We have no idea why. The Consultant mentioned going for a biopsy under GA, but we're not sure what the chances of finding swimmers are, if they couldn't find any yesterday. Guess the other option is donor sperm.

We're both feeling absolutely devastated. I don't know where we're going to go from here. DH thinks we should speak to the clinic about starting the donor route, as we can always pull out at any time if I decide I don't want to.

He is being extremely good about all this, much better than I am.

I know others on here have gone the donor route. Can you remember how the early days felt and how you dealt with the emotion of it all?

Thanks Lottie

I kind of do want to try the biopsy route, but seeing the state of DH's testicles yesterday after the PESA and TESA I'm not so sure I want him to go through it. As he said himself, he wouldn't care about the pain if they found swimmers, but the fact they didn't has made it worse.

He spoke to our clinic as he has been on an NHS waiting list for a few months now for an investigation to see whether he has a tubal blockage, but if he did the PESA / TESA should have worked. Today he has been taken off that list and put on to another waiting list for the biopsy, but we have no idea how long that could take. Unfortunately they can't do the procedure at our clinic.

I will take a look at the FF website. Thanks for the link.

Hope everything is going ok with you. You are giving me hope
