Hi everyone.
New thread starts here....

OP posts:
KC11 · 06/05/2009 15:46

Good afternoon all. Shall we start a new thread, so that it will be quicker to load?

I've not started a thread nefore. does anyone know how to do it?

KC11 · 06/05/2009 15:58

I think my AF is due on 11 May, but who knows after IVF. I just got the urge to eat chocolate, which is usually the big giveaway. I have a Wispa, Chunky Kitkat or a Mint Aero to chhose from. Help? I don't actually want to consume any of them. I'm trying to improve my diet. I am trying to get away from the sugary snacks and fast-fix High GI foods that give you a major sugar/enery rush followed by the massive slump in blood sugar. I will ignore those chocolate bars, I will. Help me someone....

flibbertywidget · 06/05/2009 20:40

LOTTIE -- YAY YAY YAY YAY for your BFP.. well done. yes, the journey has well and truly only just begun and you will forever be on symptom watch from month to month. Here's to an eventless next 8 months.

As for rainbow coloured CM..I had pink / Brown CM for the first IVF about 1wk/10days after ET. It did go within about 3 days. Some call it implantation bleed.

About the blood tests, I haven't had them done on either of my IVF's. they have simply gone by the POAS result and 5-7wk scans. each clinic has its own protocol.

Now take it easy, as easy as possible. Get some black knickers! . they were a godsend for me LOL

well done sweety!

Heidi - hope you manage to destress. IKWYM about worrying. I am too even at 24 wks, if i don't feel a kick or just worried until the baby is here.

mowmi good to see you, hope you are doing ok?

anyone heard from RB?

Hope the rest of you ladies are doing ok?

major hugs to everyone

Toppy · 06/05/2009 20:49

Hello ladies - please please forgive me for barging into your thread but I really wanted to congratulate Londonlottie

Lottie - I started lurking on MN conception pages back in autumn 2006 when I stumbled across the Temping Buddies thread and always found your posts to be hilarious, informative and close to my own heart as I too an am information gatherer and like to arm myself with everything I can get my hands on. May as well give yourself the best chance in this ridiculous game. Anyway I am totally ashamed to say that after 'graduating' I always popped back to the conception pages to look out for any news and have had my fingers crossed for you. I hope you don't find this weird especially since being on a thread can seem very private when in fact they are being read by hundreds of appreciative but shy lurkers (I am finally poster - it only took me two years !)
Anyway if it is not too weird here is a total stranger who is over the moon at your news - MASSIVE CONGRATULATIONS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I feel really now !
(PS best of luck other AC ladies)

ladylush · 06/05/2009 21:08

lol Toppy - ikwym

LL - flipperty is right. I am 21 weeks (though not via IVF - multiple m/c though)and still stress if I don't feel movements etc. So try your best not to stress too much but at the same time can totally understand why you do. All I will say is that it gets easier the further along you get.

Thanks LL - I do have to pinch myself sometimes...........strange but lovely to have got this far. Hope all works out well for you. Black knickers are good.

Toppy · 06/05/2009 22:24

LL - got my BFP in June 2007. It was only 9 months of TTC but felt like forever at the time and I feel very ashamed saying that on this thread of most deserving ladies. All of my friends and I are in our late thirties and many of them have been or are going through various forms of AC so I have never underestimated the highs and crushing lows of the TTC rollercoaster.
Anyway I have a 15mo DS (never can quite get over having to put the D there - of course he is a D and it is MN convention but it does feel a bit precious) and am expecting a DD in Sept. Reading temping buds feels like yesterday and everything can change just like that - which it looks like it has for you. I am so pleased. I shall scuttle off now and look out for you in the pg threads which you will absolutely love.
Thanks again AC ladies for not booing me out and hope you don't feel too violated by my intrusion

ladylush · 07/05/2009 07:39

Toppy I totally agree with you about the d in dc. It does indeed feel rather precious. I've always thought that.

ladylush · 07/05/2009 07:40

I often leave it off when discussing h

hello lottie!!! havent been on MN anywhere near as rehularly as i used to, but i always stalk you when i come on....................and wow!..............congratulations!!!!! so so pleased for you, but i did have a minor panic for you when i read your post about using opks instead. it was one of those moments when you try to read as fast as you can to see what is at the end of the post and then skip half of it and it doesnt make any sense and you have to read the whole thing again slowly to make sure you have understood it! anyway...........thank GOD after that you still had a bfp!!! congrats again!!
hope you remember me by the way!!!

lastboxoftampons · 07/05/2009 11:27

Another Lottie stalker logging in to say CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so so so so excited for you! Best of luck!!!!!!!! You really deserve this! xxx

Toppy · 07/05/2009 14:09

Cor Lottie - you have a fan club !
It took me ages to move over to the pg threads as conception was my home. You could have a good lurk there for a bit until it sinks in (won't take that long once you feel green around the gills). It can look like an odd set of threads as you get a real mix of people at very different stages and 32 weeks seems like another dimension rather than a few months away when you are 5 weeks. The ante-natal threads are also good but be warned, there is always a flurry of new joiners and inevitably people drop off in the first few weeks which is awful and it got me a bit scared so I sort of left them for a while.

glastochick · 07/05/2009 17:11

Oh Lottie, that's absolutely brilliant news

Been popping on here every now and then just to check up on how everyone is doing. So pleased to see some good news .

We're seeing our consultant on Monday and, if deemed appropriate, he will try to extract sperm so hopefully we'll know whether we can go ahead with IVF + ICSI. It's been a long, at times depressing, road, but fingers crossed we're nearing the point at which we can really start, and your news has given me hope.

All the best

Glasto

LL the conception indicator is much less reliable than the pregnancy indicator iyswim - because HCG levels vary so much. I stopped having faith in the conception organiser after my blighted ovum pregnancy. That's the problem - they can be very misleading. If all going well still at 6 weeks you could go to an EPU for a scan.

Lottie - So glad you punctuated your OPK story with so many yellow emoticons - would never have been able to read to the end without them reassuring me that it must have a happy ending. Good luck doing your offical test on OTD tomorrow - maybe the conception indicator will move on by then, but I've seen loads of posts from worried MNers about them not moving on to 2-3 weeks so I think the threshold must be quite high. I don't get blood tests at my clinic either, just home test on 18dpEC - feels like ages and I'm bound to get AF before then if not pg - I'd much rather have a pre-warning BFN at home in the morning with time to compose myself than suddenly getting AF in the middle of a work day. I've started knicker-checking already too. I remembered soneone's (NV?) advice about the wax from the Cyclogest burning holes in knickers so undoing all of my black knicker wearing by using pantyliners with them. I googled orange CM and seems to be common in pg, thought to be high estrogen levels.
Duplo - thanks for the good luck. As you can probably tell from my reduced posting frequency, I did go back to work Tuesday. Really knackered though, so beginning to wish I hadn't. Training course today and tomorrow though so needed to be in for that. Your days in the country sounded lovely. Have you got AF yet? I had some really low energy days when dr around the time AF was due, but picked right up as soon as she arrived. I'm sure all people thought when you got upset was that they've had those days too.
Heidi - Really glad that your bleeding has stopped and great that they can see a sac. Really, really hope that you will see the heartbeat on Monday. Fingers very tightly crossed for you.
KC11 - I think you're confusing Heidi with someone else, wasn't it Beehivebaby who was being a surrogate? Well done on starting the exercise class and good luck with getting dh off his beer and steering clear of the chocolate.
Islegrin - So sorry AF got you .
EMZIB - Glad you made it over here. 2 grade 2's is brilliant. Good luck. Very of you getting to test at 14 dp though .
Mowmi - Thank-you for having everything crossed for me. How's the healthy eating plan going?
Flibberty - Sending you some major hugs in return .
Hi to everyone popping in from the Lottie fan club. I'm sure I recognise some names from other threads.

I'm having some quite PMT-ish moments and (sorry-TMI warning) I'm convinced my CM is too watery to be pg. Am having a scan on Saturday as part of the research project and someone told me that she was told things were looking very good at hers. She had a 2-day ET too so hers would have been 3 days earlier. I'm going to try and get the sonographer to let me know whether things are looking good or bad - I'd just sooner be prepared. Just praying my gut feeling is wrong and that Myfanwy (the round one) and Idris (the oval one) as they are temporarily called are hanging on in there.

Hi to everyone else. RB - where are you?

LL I got 1-2wks on CB at 16DPO and for a little while so don;t fret pet... Plus don't be freaked out when the Digital "wears out", I kept mine in a drawer to remind myself that I was PG and then had a complete freak fit when I saw the screen had gone blank.. DOH! - battery had run out.

Issy -- it was me whose cyclogest burnt a whole in my knickers , admittedly they were cheap n cheerful belly button huggers from somewhere. but they have done the trick thus far LOL. Good luck for the scan.

Right I have work to do as well, got a big event on Tuesday and seem to have lumbered myself with writing two presentations, which I hate doing. Think i am going to dive into the Millie's cookies that DH bought earlier. Hmmm what a dilemma...

mowmi -- good luck with the ZW stuff

heidi - Good luck for scan on monday

RB where are you sweety,,, hope everything ok??

lastboxoftampons · 07/05/2009 21:01

OMG, lottie, please don't feel guilty! You've had just a few little things going on I'm really just so pleased for you and your DH - couldn't be happier for you! Take lots of care of that little bean!!!!

Issy42 · 07/05/2009 21:29

Thanks Lottie - I know CM isn't meant to mean much but I always have thicker CM following hcg trigger and def had it when I was pg. I remember wondering if I had an infection when I was away on hols and noticed it from 4 days before AF due. This is such a rollercoaster, only yesterday I was indulging myself searching rightmove and wondering whether I could afford to move to a house with a bigger kitchen near country walks - the answer was no - and today I'm convinced it hasn't worked. 14 dpo is Monday and I have work followed immediately by dinner at my boss's house to say goodbye to the woman in my team going on maternity leave, so not a good day to test. She's actually going on Wednesday now though not Friday so at least I don't have to wait even longer than my OTD to test, just really hope I don't get AF on Monday as that will be awful. Does anyone know if temping works when on the progesterone? I usually start temping a few days before AF due so I get my temp dip warning that she's coming.

Work's not stressful, just tiring me out, which unfortunately is another 'AF's coming' sign for me - though I'm trying to tell myself it's just because I went back a week before my sicknote ran out. Also normally get my dancing pick-me-up on a Thursday but giving it a rest for 4 weeks since started stimming. Scan is just about blood flow to the womb for the project, so they're not looking for anything, I think it's just lucky if they can see anything. The woman I was talking about is expecting twins so that might have made a difference. Sorry to be so down, especially when you have such good news. I'm actually feeling a bit better now I've let it all out. Guess I can't change anything and I won't know until next week, so should just stop worrying about it.

Flibberty - thanks for the warning - you might have saved me some knickers - I've been wearing my older ones since I remembered .
