Hi Mowmi - that's great that you're feeling inspired to dig out the ZW. Yes, I do have two blasts on board, OTD 15th May. Thanks for your good wishes.

Gilly - only 2 of my 8 made it to blast. At some clinics you have to have 6 fertilised eggs for them to even try to go to blast. My clinic warned me there was an 18% chance that none of them would make it and that it's normal for only 30-50% to make it that far. Appreciate you wanting to have the tests, but just don't want you beating yourself up when 2 out of 6 was actually a great result, although I know it's hard to see it that way.

Bloody hell, lottie! just checked in after my weekend away and saw the news. CONGRATULATIONS!! you must be so excited! I am excited!!
And what a rollercoaster as well, especially the final bit, I can just about imagine the sinking feeling when you realised you had done an opk!! All the best to you, and please stay around we want to hear how you're getting on. have you told your clinic yet?

Issy, good luck for your 2ww. Have you decided about going back to work? I'm sure I would have opted for 2 blasts too, if it increases the success rate by that much. Hope you manage to keep yourself reasonably distracted.

How's it going Heidi? Has the bleeding stopped? Your hcg values sound very good so I hope you'll soon be able to relax a bit more.

What about you islegrin, hope the 2ww doesn't seem too long to you.

As for me, had a few really relaxing days in the country, managed to stay away from the wine most of the time but indulged in some fabulous food instead!! the sniffing has been going well no side effects apart from feeling slightly lightheaded at times. but I have been following your recommendations of drinking loads of water. Now just waiting for af to start end of this week.

Lottie trying to make babies definitely makes us a little crazy...crazy enough to pee on the wrong stick LOL I'm so happy to hear there was another line when you got a pregnancy test.

duplomania The bleeding has stopped and they saw a sack on the u/s but no heartbeat yet. Going for another u/s on Monday and the doc said if we don't see a heartbet then we'll talk about our options...I don't want options...I want a baby!!!!

sigh

I know that it's wrong but I know I'm going to be stressed until my due date. I lost 2 babies at end of 1st trimester and DD was taken out via c-section at end of week36 because the docs said she hadn't grown much in last 3 weeks. Now, after all the problems ttc #2 the docs have said it might be all connected... So like I said...I'm going to be a basketcase until I'm holding a healthy baby in my arms.

LL just came to check on you to see if you have darker lines yet - and you definitely do! That is absolutely a BFP! Bit concerned about the ORANGE color, though. Please do take care, and even catch the next bus for a little while.

With all of your excitement... I couldn't help but to test early . The result (of course) was negative, but I'm 4 days before my OTD. So I'll be testing again. I was so hoping to be pg before I went on this 3 week trip - DH isn't going with me, so next month is out. Oh well! It will be nice to be free and see friends and family, maybe even have a cocktail.

LL I'm so happy for you!!!

Hi all. I'm new to this thread.

I'm about to have my IVF embryo transfer tomorrow morning. Had 6 follicles, which resulted in 5 eggs and 3 fertilised. I had my long awaited call today with the good news. Am very excited/nervous and am hoping that tomorrow will go smoothly and have a positive outcome! I got pregnant in Sept 08 via IUI but had a miscarriage at 6/7 weeks. So, am very up and down about the whole thing. My fertility clinic signed me off work for 2 weeks to get me through this stressful stage and I'm so glad they did. I'm taking it easy but am finding that the mind races! Fingers crossed for me guys!

LL do a search on orange cm on mumsnet. Cm is very strange in pregnancy so I wouldn't have thought it's necessarily negative. Oh and as for the scattiness (OPK instead of HPT) - that's pregnancy for you. Kills brain cells immediately

ladylush · 05/05/2009 19:28

LL - orange discharge could be a sign of a UTI as well so maybe you could get your urine tested at the GP surgery?

Lottie - had to laugh at opk mix up...! I echo what everyone else says - take it easy and try to stay calm!

Isle - it's very early so don't be too upset - pretty sure i tested around the same time last time and a couple of days later BFP.

Gilly - sorry the ICSI didn't work for you... Have to say I'm in a similar position to you. MC + 2 attempts with nothing to freeze after tx - will be following your progress.

Issy - I have everything crossed for some great news on the 15th.

EMZIB - Best of luck for tomorrow.

Started my healthy eating plan today...scales are not at all happy with me - one thing at a time, going to loose the weight then I'll go and jump back on this crazy train.

Will keep popping in to see how you are all doing in the meantime!

X

duplomania · 05/05/2009 22:36

lottie, would talk to clinic about orange cm, no idea what it could be but they might know??

Hope you get to see the little heartbeat soon heidi, it must be so hard for you!! And it's really annoying when drs are so matter of fact about things that mean everything to us.

islegrin, you did test very early, so it's not over yet. good luck!

welcome emzib, all the best with your transfer tomorrow. hope you can find yourself some pleasant tasks to keep your mind off 2ww a bit.

I did something very embarrassing this morning. Just when I thought I had escaped any side effects from sniffing the hormones hit me and I started crying in dds playgroup!! she was throwing things at a girl and refused to apologize, I told her off and suddenly I became really tearful. oh the shame, everyone pretended not to notice but I'm sure they must think I'm such a loon and clearly incapable of looking after my child.

islegrin · 06/05/2009 02:46

Well - I'm officially OUT, guess who showed up??? AF!!! what the...??? CD 24??? I'm usually a 30 day girl. Called the nurse today, they said as long as I have a neg preg test, they'll start me on new meds tomorrow and we can try on our own this cycle (I'm not sure it's worth it, but will talk to DH). This was the third cycle of IUI, and we plan to go for 6 total before thinking of IVF. Not sure if that's on the radar for us yet, but you ladies have certainly made IVF a lot more approachable and understandable - so we'll consider it.

Maybe I should just enjoy my DINK status...

bummer - I hate it when HPT provoke AF!

test date is 18th apparently (14 days from egg collection) I'd have thought it should be 2 weeks from transfer?

Hey lottie. Congrats on your BFP!!!

Hey gilly. Hope you're ok. 5 June sounds quite soon to me. I'v got to wait til 22 July for the damn clinic apnmt!!!! I bet they'll say "there is a much longer waiting list now". My clinic apprently close for the whole of December and half of January as they don't want to have any abandoned cycles. I just bet you all that I don't get to start my 2nd IVF until 2010!! I am very unhappy.

Hey Heidi. Hope you're doing ok. Hope Monday gives you the heartbeat you're so desperate for. You are doing a truly wonderful thing. I wish I had someone I could consider for the task if I need to. I am doing a lot of thinking about adoption. I need to do something with all this time on my hands. I haven't spoke to my DH about adoption but i am getting prepared to. I know we have tow more IVFS to try but there is a pessimist who lives inside my head and She is around a lot at the moment.

I DID start an exercise class yesterday, called Body Vive. Hurray for me!!! I will be going every Tuesday as it helps me focus the week on something.

Hi the everyone else on the thread. Hugs to all of you. and of course baby dust.

By the way the Marilyn Glenville book "getting pregnant faster" is a very good read. it says a fair bit about male fertility and how to increase it. For example did you know that when a man changes his diet and abstains from alcohol it takes 100 days to have an effect but the result is always good. I have said to my DH that I would prefer it if he didn't drink beer at home, on ordinary week nights in front of reailty TV! I'm not sure he knows I was serious, so will show him the page of the book tonight and see if I can persuade him to leave the beer alone. god he sounds like a alcie but he only has about 3 beers a week. But if he cuit that down to 3 a month we'd be standing a good chance of his sperm improving. On the day of EC his count fell down to 12 million. I can't help think that his diet (teenage) is also affecting the health of his sperm and their formation.
