I hope Lottie is having a wonderful holiday, and what a fabulous plan to elope and get married on holiday!

Good luck with the GonalF injectiosn gillydaffodil, hope all is going weel.

I went to the clinic this morning and was taught how to inject myself, eek. I am fairly sure that on the first morning I will be sitting there for ages trying to bring myself to actually poke the syringe into me though! Is the first one the worst one? We also confirmed that the Buserelin injections will start on 24 March, so good to know that that date is fixed.

I've also been dieting to lose a few pounds before I start the injections as I have heard that they can result in weight gain. Is this true? How much am I likely to gain if so?

good luck with your scan tomorrow gilly! my dp won't giving me injections either, he normally faints at the sight of a needle, honest!! ok thats enough slagging of poor dp who is not here to defend himself!

Sorry to hear you had to go through so many iuis issie, let's just hope that ivf is gonna sort us all out.

will meet my consultant next wednesday to discuss THE PLAN so that should be good. I'm assuming since he said I needed 1 month break the downregging will happen at the end of next cycle and not this one. really want to know because I would like to go away over the bank hols but now don't know if I can - I know, trivial problem really...

We're staying with the same clinic they have been quite good so far I think and we have to do everything private anyway since it's secondary infertility.

btw have you all told work that you're doing ivf? I really don't want to, not in these times too scared to lose my job. but it's really tricky getting all the time off at shortest notice and can't help thinking everyone knows anyway.

Hi gilly. How you getting on? Hope your scan was OK. I had mine on Tues 17 March. they were happy for me to start stimming that evening. I've done 3 gonal-f injs now. They don't only hurt any more than the buserelin in the mornings. I had the shakes for most of Weds (which was day after starting the gonal-f injs) but since that i've been ok. My hot flushes seem less frequent. So far!!!!!

I have told the staff at work that i'm going through IVF. There's 6 women and 1 man. I've worked with most of them for more than 10 years so they're more like family than colleagues. It does help to have a confidante (or 7) as they'll ask how you're feeling and you don't have to lie. When i've got an apmnt at Barts hopsital they know where i am. It's very stress free which i guess must be good.

I am surprised at my lack of sideffects, which makes me doubt if the drugs are doing anything.

duplo I had 3 IUIs too. I still don't get how they didn't work. every scan showed good follicles and the lining was always the right thickness. I'm on my first try at IVF.I wish you luck with whatever your clinic try next.

Hi ladies. Had my most recent scan (Day 9) today. I am the proud owner of 17 follicles!!!! I feel quite smug. Lets hope they contain eggs and not air .

Hi gilly. Keep up the good work with the injections. I don't know if it's just me but I get a funny taste in my mouth a minute after giving myself the gonal-f dose. I know it sounds really weird doesn't it? Do you get a funny taste too? DH thinks that I must have had a drop of the fluid on my finger and then touched my tongue but it has happened the last four times. It can't just be a coincidence.

How are all you other ladies doing? You all getting on ok?

havent been on for a few weeks hope everyone is doing well!!!!!!! been busy sorting out the wedding and trying not to think about restarting IVF treatment in June/July, dates are a bit mixed up now AF came almost a week after i stopped doing the drugs and then the proper AF came two weeks early on 1st March so messed up cycle for June as i will still be away come back on 3rd so been put back another month ho hum but anyway nice to see a few more newies on here welcome

Wedding is on 29th May in Rhodes. KC11 you lucky thing 17 i only got 3 folls on first attempt. know what you mean though gily i didnt suffer ovary pain but dont despair it doesnt mean that there arent any just that you are lucky not to experience pain, if you were experiencing pain then overstim is not so good is it. I didnt taste any of my injections although a couple of them i felt when DP was injecting and the itch omg it was unbearable for about 2 mins lol. Tell you what was weird for me was having a bath then having injections as you are so sensitive that you bleed slightly so decided not to go down that route.

I started the downreg yesterday. As predicted giving myself the first injection was a trial. I couldn't tell you the number of times I held the needle over my thigh and couldn't quite bring myself to poke it, while DH hovered anxiously and kept asking if I wanted him to do it. Eventually I gritted my teeth and jabbed it in, and of course, it didn't hurt a bit. And this morning's was fine, also as expected. So I'm rolling my eyes at myself.

well done you NotPrincessAnne saying that i was a wimp cant stand the sight of needles DP had to inject for me, although i am getting slightly better as i ended up preparing the Puregon pen before my treatment was halted

Hi everyone, I posted on here a while ago, but things have been very slow for us and I felt I had nothing to add.
However, I have just returned from a clinic in Hungary and after a scan and a quick reccy of my hormone levels I have been informed I can start the whole process as soon as AF appears.
I have been given the pill to take and have some other stuff, in a bag, which I haven't dared open, and have to phone the doctor when I start AF.
I think the plan is for me to go back over at the end of this month to stay for a couple of weeks.
Still very dim and not really understanding the time scales, it seems to be quite fluid, dependent upon how I respond.
I seem to have a tendency to develop cysts - have a 3mm one now which was spotted during the scan yesterday. Has anyone else had this problem?
Oh CONGRATULATIONS LOTTIE, on your marriage plans, that's lovely, so much to do!

Anyhow, I found out today and it is a BFP! Obviously I am happy but I have been here before and not made it, so I won't be truly hapy til we reach the magic 12 week scan!

Anyway, there has been loads going on while I was offline, it seems - will catch up with it all later, but duplo my sympathies are with you - hopefully IVF will have a more positive effect!

The scan this morning has revealed 20 follies!!!! I am still in shock. They also took a blood test as they think the ovaries might have been overstimulated. But they've said not to panic as they'd probably just reduce the dosage of gonal-f (follitropin). They will telephone me this afternoon to let me know when to stop injections of buserelin and gonal-f, and when to give myself the trigger injection. The have just phoned. Egg collection is Monday 11.30am. AAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

I'm in a tizz. Can't concentrate now i know EC is on 30th March. I am so worried in case the IVF does not work. But then again there must be couples out there who have ivf success first time around. I think it just comes down to luck.

bY THE BY. I AM HAVING THE SHITTIEST DAY AT WORK SO FAR THIS YEAR. ALL SORTS OF CRAP GOING ON. THANK GOODNESS IT'S FRIDAY AND THE OFFICE WILL BE CLOSED ON SAT AND SUN.

Hi gilly. This may be TMI, but one of my sideffects is that I have extreme dryness "downstairs" IYKWIM. Apparently that is a good indication that the meds are working. Also have tender nipples but not in rest of boobs. Sorry if this is Too Much Information.

How did your scan go? What did they say? When do you have to have the next scan?
