I know I'm clutching at straws but......

I am only about 7/8 days past ovulation.

I found a pregnancy test that I had left over from a couple of months ago (and ultra sensitive one) and I don;t know why but I did it (well I do know why actually, we've been told that there is practically nil chance of us conceiving, and I just thought oh what the heck I'll get rid of the last test, might as well use it!).

Anyway I didn't pay much attention to it as it was 'developing' as I knew what the result would be (given our circumstances and the fact that we only did it once around ovulation (and that was about 3 or 4 days before ovultaion!))

When I looked at it 5-10 mins later before putting in the bin it looked like there was the faintest of faintest lines in the test window. It actually looked like it was a very faint line where the line would be if it was positive (if you know what I mean!). It really was extremely faint, could hardly work it out at all.

I'm assuming this must be an 'evaporation line' or something similar? I seem to remember reading about these before.

Evaporation line is like the absence of a line, if that makes sense. It's lighter than the surrounding white. If your line was darker, i.e. v light pink, then it's positive.

Only way to know is wait a couple of days and test again.

I hope you are!!

Oh thank you, that's kind.

It looks like the palest of palest of pinks, and you really have to move it around to see it. Lots of other people would probably say they couldn't see anything.

also I think I looked at it well outside the time limit, although I don't know how long it had been there.

I really don't think there's any chance I could be pg! I don't even dare hope but it would be a dream come true

It does sound positive. Got everything crossed for you. It is early to get a result but I started feeling sick a week after ovulation so it'a completely possible to have enough HCG to show on a test. Please post back when you know!

thank you. I'll try again in a couple of days and post back

Well it's still quite early. You can't know for sure until af arrives!
