Is that enough?

Hello! Im new to the business of making babies. I can off the pill in March. Then avoided the key dates to enjoy the summer. Proper effort went into the venture in August. No success. So, bought a kit to check when ovulating and it smiled at me on the morning of day 13.

We did the biz on the evening of D12, the morning of D13 (due to the smiley face) and the evening of D14 (last night). Now what I want to know is, is that enough? And what are the 'signs' that everyone is chatting about? Really hopeing for a Sept baby x

Sorry to be rubbish but can someone please tell me the signs?

As for have you done enough - maybe you'll be lucky, maybe not - a lot of people use the Deanna Plan, which suggests a timetable for doing the deed - you can read the details here

Having said that, I got a BFP in Sept after only BD'ing 3 times that month (mc in Nov though so am TTC again)

I'm no expert, but I think at this early stage, MODERATE drinking would be safe - ie one or 2 glasses of wine

Hi reflection - there's an interesting post on here from festivedolly who said that her pregnancy scans date her conception at Day 38 of her cycle - about the time that she would normally be expecting her period.

My own experience is that we haven't been able to get pregnant in 14 months of trying, even though we've been slaves to the temping chart and the OPK. This month, DH and I have decided to have as much sex as we possibly can throughout the cycle to see if this makes a difference to us.

All I can say is that everyone is different, and for every JingleJools who is lucky enough to fall pregnant quickly (although v. unlucky to have an mc - sorry to hear that ) there's someone else for whom it takes over a year. There's no way of telling yet which you'll be.

Re: drinking. I had my first appt with a fertility nurse a few weeks ago and DH and I asked her about drinking. Her response was that the worst thing you can do is binge drink - i.e. drink nothing all week and then sink a bottle of wine and a few shots at the weekend. A glass or two on a regular basis is barely more harmful than not drinking at all. So relax and enjoy that mulled wine .

I'm gutted to say that for the first time ever I feel really at a loss this Christmas. For years I didn't think having babies was important and all of a sudden I feel just so sad that I didn't have children earlier. I am so praying that we will have a child by next year. But what if? I don't know, It's just you spend so long trying not to get pregnant that when you do want to it doesn't happen straight away! Loads of my friends only seem to look at their husbands and it's a done deal!
