I have heard that the nearer the time of ovulation to the moment of conception/BD, the more likely the baby is to be a boy?

Is there any truth in this - what's your experience?

Or is this just another old wives' tale - surely there would be many more girls than boys if the timing for boys were limited to that of ovulation?

I ask because I am 7 wk pregnant and know exactly when I conceived, pretty much ... these were my symptoms.

  1. BD on a Wednesday morning. No symptoms all day
  2. Thursday am - woke up feeling different: temp up very slightly from usual 36.1-36.5 to 36.6, sore nipples.
  3. By Thursday evening, my sense of smell was increased, I felt nausea and sick and couldn't eat (very unlike me), was really hot
  4. By Friday, temp risen up to 37 degrees and stayed there ever since. Sickness lasted about 26 hours and think was caused by hormones going crazy at moment of conception?

So did I ovulate and conceive Wednesday night?
