Am I going to miss my fertile window??

Was day 12 yesterday, I concieved ds on day 13 so am obsessed that its the right time of the month.
Dh has man-flu, he said he'd oblige but I thought I dont wanna try and concieve a baby like that with no kissing, and dh being ill.

So 13th day today after 1st day of last period, am I going to have any time to ttc this month??

Do you know if you still ovulate every month on day 13? I think you have 24 - 36 hours so if he's better tomorrow or the next day you may be ok. No guarantees I guess but good luck and there's always next month!

i dont know beanie, as Ive had the mirena in since ds but my cycle seems to be dead on 28 days so Im assuming my ovaluation is around day 12 (btw I know nothing about these things)
Do you think its worth keeping on trying?

if your cycle is dead on 28days (women's average) isnt it more likely you ovulate on day 14 (also women's average)? Have you ever charted, used OPK's or checked your cervical mucus (last day of egg white mucus is often ovulation day) or cervix position? That can give you a relatively good indication.

Sometimes I wish we were baboons- they get a great big red ass when ovulating! hahah

I'm so desperate to get pg I'd be all over dh even if he was unconscious. But I am obssessed. You're still in with a chance tomorrow if you ov on cd 14.

heck I would get a yoghurt pot and a syringe cept DH would never let me!

Thandeka, can you elaborate, like I said I know nothing about ovaluation times and ttc as last two times have caught by accident. Whats OPK's and Im not sure I want to investigate cervical mucus

Cervical mucus is one of easiest checks to do (if you aint easily grossed out, its not that bad honest!) basically when you get mucus that is like egg white and can be stretched out between your fingers by an inch- this is you fertile mucus that enables sperm to swim in. When you go to the toilet and wipe check the tissue- if it has all soaked in it isn't fertile mucus- if it has a faint slime trail (like a snail trail) then is is fertile mucus (but careful you dont confuse it with sperm- fertile mucus is kind of shinier!). You can also insert a finger and have a look at what comes out.

You can also check your cervix position- when it feels high soft and open you are most fertile (mine goes so high up its out of reach so I can't tell whether its soft and open!) basically your cervix feels like the tip of your nose- have a rummage for it!

OPK's are ovulation predictor kits. You can buy single tests (but these confuse many women no end)- so I use Persona which tells me when to wee on a stick and I get a little egg symbol when it records the LH surge and I am about to ovulate.

If you buy- taking charge of your fertility by Toni Weschler that is a great book to get the hang of it all. Its really straightforward once you know and you can use www.fertilityfriend.com to track your cycles and it tells you when you ovulate.

thank you very much for that. I managed to tempt dh into a quickie this morning, deffo more mucusy today than last couple of days so thats a good sign.
Will deffo not be fiddling for cervix (bleurgh).
If I dont catch this month I will buy an ovulation kit for next month.
