Why, oh why do my body and mind trick me into believing I'm pregnant every month . . .

Is it only me? Each month I feel as if I might be pregnant eg breasts feel sensitive, period is slightly overdue, feel "odd" in the morning - the list goes on.

So far it's all come to nothing. I guess I want it so much I'm ready to imagine everything a symptom of pregnancy. Somehow I need to get a life and stop being obsessive.

I'm especially peeved with my body as I had a blood test booked at the doctors which I had to cancel because AF was late ...

Totally sympathise, it's so incredibly frustrating and upsetting. For the first time ever (apart from when I was pregnant in 2005) my period was late this month (by almost a week!), my boobs were sore, had stomach cramps and couldn't stop weeeing. Convinced myself I was pregnant, would have bet money on it especially as I was late and had done a serious amount of bedding with dh all around ovulation time. Of course 2 pregnancy tests proved me wrong...

How long have you been trying Suze? Having spent most of my adult life trying not to get pregnant, I now cant believe how difficult it is to get pregnant..

Hi Suze,

I know, it's horrible, but don't give up hope. I had a m/c in June 2007 and am now 15 weeks pregnant. I remember that horrible wait every month and the utter disappointment each time AF turned up. It's hard not to be obsessive about it - you end up not doing things because you might be pregnant...and like you say, each month you think you have pregnancy symptoms.

The best advice I can give is to try to make other things more of a focus. I got pregnant after I'd enrolled on a course and booked acupuncture.

How long have you been trying for?

It is so grim, you have my sympathies. I must spend a good 2 hours a day thinking about this in some way or another. I have pregnacies being announced all around me, I seem to live in Fertility Forest and yet I have no luck, its been 14 months now and I am moving onto IVF. The obsessing will move into a whole new league no doubt!

It's not just you, I am exactly the same. AF due tomorrow and have been convinced for the last week I might be pg, however the sore (.)(.) have now gone which is a sure sign for me that af is on her way. I know how you feel every little twinge or cramp and i start thinking it's a sign. Was sooooooooo convinced this month that i poas last night and guess what............ bfn (no surprise there then) maybe when we don't think we are we will be!! We have been trying 3 years not sure how much more of this i can put myself through but then I think it'll be this month each month it's a no is a month closer to it being a yes.

hoping for us all

moo xx
