That's it really. Almost 37 and 4 m/c (have 1 ds aged 4).

Hiya. Have you had any tests at all? Don't worry about your age - I know quite a few people aged 37 and into their 40s who have had babies. If you are having regular periods I think that's a pretty good sign, but if I were you I'd speak to your doctor. xx

Yes I've been tested for APA, Lupus, Karyotyping, uterine anomalies, thyroid (do have underactive thyroid but it is now well controlled). Dh has had sperm analysis (poor morphology but not in context of sperm count which is very high). I was told by an endocrinologist the other day that my eggs might be old and not very good. Speculation based on my age......just wondered how this could be tested.

You can have an ovarian reserve test which will give you a fairly good idea. You should probably consult privately and then have it done.

Glimmer · 05/12/2008 19:55

Hi Ladylush,
I wondered about that, too, after I had my mmc (actually I had another very early mc). But: as I understand it, the fact that you conceived
speaks against it. I am no expert in any way, but I always thought that if you have "egg problems" you don't fall pregnant in the first place. I second bamboo - I also read about ovarian reserve test.

Thanks for replies ladies Hi Glimmer, how are you? The endocrinologist I saw last week told me I probably m/c because my eggs are old. However, two of my m/c were freak ones (ectopic and blighted ovum) so trying to keep some perspective iyswim.

LL - good luck today My mum was well into her forties when she went through the menopause. Also I started menstruating quite late (almost 16) so am hoping menopause will be quite late for me.

Ovarian Reserve test - I thought that estimated eggs left. Does it give indication of quality too?

LL we might consider IVF with PGS if next attempt unsuccessful. I googled your clinic and it looks really good. Have you been well looked after?
