Hi
I had a fsh test done about 3 months ago which showed that my fsh was extremely high.
This came as no surprise to me as I had been experiencing a 5 month absence with my af and some weird possibly menopausel symptoms.
Anyway in the end I was diagnosed with premature ovarian failure and was given a months supply of hrt to try and reverse the ovarian failure.
This did appear to work and my cycle has been regular for the last 3 months.
The fertility clinic have said there is no need to test my fsh levels again as I am now getting a regular cycle and a day 21 test showed I had ovulated, they told me that my fsh will be normal while my cycle is regular.
I am not so sure about this as I also thought that fsh was also a indicator of egg reserve, quality etc.
Is is right of the fertility clinic to not test my fsh any longer while I am getting a regular cycle.
I do know that when I was getting no af for 5 months that my ovaires had failed and the pituitary gland was sending out more and more fsh to spur them into action hence the high fsh so I suppose it makes some sense but I am still confused about what they have told me.
