Make love when you both feel like it and do not entertain any thought of timed intercourse. Two or three times a week throughout the menstrual cycle is fine.

Refrain from using OPK's and the like - these can cause stress besides which they are useless if the menstrual cycle is irregular.

If your menstrual cycle is irregular seek medical advice sooner rather than later.

If you regularly have severe period pains or heavy bleeding during your period seek medical advice sooner rather than later. Do not be fobbed off.

Legs up in the air post intercourse is a myth - enough sperm will get to the cervix from where it cannot escape.
