Obsessive: please talk to me about your first few periods after stopping breastfeeding

Were they regular straight away? Further apart than usual?

Sorry - I don't mean stopping bf, I mean after having a baby
I am still bf and have had one, but assumed I would have to stop bf before that happened - luckily that's not the case.
However, if they are regular then I am officially late...

My periods returned when dd1 was 8 weeks, despite being bf round the clock. They were irregular though, every 4/5/6 weeks I think.

Well at best mine were 33/34/35 days
Just wondering if I could now go for months without another one

yes they could just be irregular due to bfing.

I had one at about two months, then not another until last week (DS is now 7 months)

mine were regular but REALLY heavy for the first few times afterwards - flooding etc, but they settled down after about 6 months.

Awww SPB, I did too. After the first one when I didn't have another I was desperately hoping I was pg.
Just because ours weren't reg, doesn't mean yours won't be.

I think everyone is different. So you never know

May I join in. I had one AF at 11 months and waiting for the second. Was also hopeful, but BFN. Can we open a TTC while still BFing thread? Hope yours are irregular because you conceived!!!

First period after DD was at 9mo (then bf til 15 months). Had always been v regular - 28 days - but had fertility problems (Dd was ivf).

When periods returned they were every 35 days on the dot (so every month after 28 days I would be holding my breath and hoping). Then I got pg with DS after 4 periods. He's now 8mo and I'm still waiting for my first period.
