Hello, This is my first post and i'm not quite sure I'm in the right place...but here goes..

Can anyone tell me what it means if my temperature goes up for ONE day at ovulation and then goes back down again the next day to below the coverline, and seems to be staying down? Does this mean I've got practically no progesterone kicking around?

Help! A bit worried. I've just started taking vit B6 100 mg to try to lengthen my luteal phase, but hadn't realised what was going on as I 'd never bothered taking temp after ov...

Is it possible it was just a one-off high temp and you have yet to ovulate this cycle?

I think FF's explanation is the most likely.

Until you have had at least 3 consecutive high temperatures you cannot confirm ovulation, and it is highly unlikely that you have ovulated with only one high temp (as progesterone levels will rise after ov- if they are low you probably have not ovulated).
It's really important to look for patterns rather than at individual temps, since a single temp can be impacted by all sorts of external factors.

I recommend that if you haven't already you get a copy of "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" which explains in full the effect of hormones on BBT and how to spot ovulation and patterns in your cycle.

Agree with above posts on relying on a single temp. Try the fertilityfriend.com website - it helps you track temps, the basic membership is free and it has tutorials on fertility and a really good downloadable guide.
