i am currently on CD11. i did an OPK test on cd8 and 9 -neg, then yesterday, saw a faint line. i did an extra one this morning that gave a very dark reading but this evening is one is faint (but marginally darker than yesterday evening's one). I also had horrible pains yesterday and till about an hour ago.
so, does it mean that ov has happened and my LH surge has peaked and is now gone down or was my urine too concentrated this morning and picked up a positive reading?
sorry to be such an obsessive but I'm fairly novice at all this.
TIA

I think it probably means your LH surge has peaked and gone down. That seems most likely with the pains.

Don't do more than one OPK a day! That way madness lies and you will only get confused .

I found that my LH surge was very quick and I, too, would have missed it had I not done the extra test. I believe I ovulated just a few hours later, although it can actually be up to 72 hours after the surge.

How about cervical mucous? keep going as long as you have 'egg white' as this tends to dry up after ovulation.

Ovulation isn't quite 'blink and you'll miss it', and I would say you 'are ovulating' at the moment

Hope you have been busy as it helps to have some wrigglers 'up there' waiting on the egg, so to speak!!

Good luck!

oh, also...

you can have more than one surge each month, since your body can gear up for ovulation but it may not occur.

Keep watching other symptoms and perhaps OPK's if you are in doubt.

Cervical position another good indicator, if you're not too squeamish.

I have had hardly any CM (despite copious amounts of grapefruit juice, and water), just some spotting, and haven't been bding either so i guess this month won't be the month. will try tonight, just in case!!

if i have ovulated, my temp should go up tomorrow, shouldnt it?

Have a look at this website
peeonastick

it explains how opk's work quite well I think. Good luck

Meant to say have a look at the Ovulation Predictor FAQ page - that should address both your questions I think

FAQ

thanks ff, have had a quick read. interesting to see that pain doesnt necessarily mean immediate ov. will bd tonight then see what my temp does. I knew should have just done' wait and see' this month!!
