Sainsburys 4 days before your period is due tests...? Are they reliable?

Hi there
I had implantation bleeding on day 20 (it was exactly just like I had with DS) and so suspected I was pregnant and tested with a Sainsburys early detection test with FMU on day 26.I got a postive - the second line came up really quickly and strongly.

However, yesterday and today - (day 27 and 28) I have had weird pink CM,... definately not blood but makes me wonder if Im going to get my period or if its something else weird going on. I did another test to make sure but it was negative. I did do it in the afternoon though, and had been to the loo only an hour before so maybe the HCG was not strong in my urine? Im due to start my period tomorrow, so Im confused about whats happening.

The test on day 26 was definately positve though. Even DH agrees - the line is really clear. Im confused

Are sainsburys tests notorious for false positives or something?

Hi gothmummy - I'm a goth too btw.

IMHO the sainsbury's tests are really sensitive to spashing on the test window (and because they're encased completely in plastic it's hard not to). I'm having hcg shot and use them for testing if that's out of my system and then use a clearblue digital for the real testing (20% off in Sainsburys at the mo). Early tests do rely on the concentration in fmu, so it may just be that your wee was just too dilute, so worth testing again in the morning.

With regards to your pink cm it could be implantation bleeding. Also it's quite common for hormones to give a woman bleeding around the time her period was due and some women get this right through pregnancy.

I don't want to worry you, but I had a positive Sainsburys test last cycle the day before AF arrived, but I had other early pg symptoms so prob had a very early miscarriage. Also the control line on the test was incomplete.

I hope in your case that it was just due to concentration and you will have a definite BFP tomorrow. The peeonastick website mentions that clearblue non-digital can give a false positive but doesn't say anything about Sainsburys. Good luck - fingers crossed for you.

Thanks for your reply! nice to meet another goth on here I just checked my old chart from my pregnancy with DS and I also had spotting then and a negative test on cd 28 so perhaps thats just me. I hope so. We were not really ttc but not preventing anything happening. I think if this does not work out we will be postively TTC from now on as we were both excited when the test was positive.

Im really sorry that you had the positive test then AF

I think I will get a Clear Blue digital test if I have not had proper AF in a few days, as people on here seem to have lots of success with them.
thanks again x
