TTC over Christmas?

I've just worked out I'm likely to be in the 2ww during Christmas. We're going to stay with my parents, and I haven't told them we are TTC as they would be very pleased and get over-excited before anything happens.

So, I have a dilemma. do i...

  1. severely limit my drinking, make random excuses

  2. severely limit my drinking and come clean about TTC, or

  3. not TTC for that month?

Of course it will all be great if I am actually 7-8 weeks pregnant by then, but I can't assume that will happen.

Anyone else in the same boat? What are you doing about it? Has anyone changed their christmas plans to fit around TTC?

In a different boat to you a bit as I hope to be in the middle of the 2WW following IVF over Christmas and New Year. From my perspective, getting to do IVF again is much more important than Christmas drinking...but this is only my view. And I don't tell family what is going on, so I will limit drinking severely during that time, and can't tell them why I'm not drinking.

TBH no one will notice if you accept a drink ("Oh yes, large glass of Pinot Grigio for me please") and then don't drink it. Lots of popping in and out of rooms with a glass in your hand. People just aren't that bothered about your drinking habits unless you make a fuss about it.

I'll be in my 2WW this month with all the family as F-in-law is having his birthday & has booked a hotel for the whole family for the wkend. Its not quite Xmas but similar I've decided that I am going to say I have a bladder infection & I'm on antibiotics & maybe sneak a small glass of wine with dinner if the pressure gets too much

Just looked at the calendar and we're at my mum's house (in 2x single beds!) - hmmm... no pain, no gain.

Could blame your lack of alcohol intake on a big boozer the previous weekend - awful office party hangover etc etc. Good luck!
