Anyone take Guaifenesin in Robitussin for increasing EWCM?

Lots of people recomend this cough medicine of all things for helping with ewcm. I LOATHE grapefruit juice so was thinking about trying this instead (Toni Weschler reccomends this too).

Anyone else take it? Which one is best. Where do you get it from?

Just read about this and happened to notice that Boots own syrup for chesty coughs up to age 12 does this, so am thinking of taking it.
Will be watching with interest! I need all the good luck and help I can get...

Oooh how much is that one? I think I may have to go shopping tommorrow! Toni Weshler advises "2 teaspoons three times a day starting several days before your anticipated ovulation through to the 1st day of your temperature shift. (Caution be sure to use plain robitussin, since other types can actually dry up your cervical fluid)"

Also says Humabid La.

Think I may pop and talk to a pharmacist tommorrow. Its available without prescription and probably wont do any harm to give it a go.

I used Robuitussin when I was ttc with clomid, as a side effect is it can cause thick hostile mucous, I think that it helped to be honest - and did managed to concieve DS2 on it

googling revealed another option:

interesting.

Meltus Chesty coughs (I have a bottle already in the cupboard) contains Guaifenesin but it also contains cetylpyridium chloride which isn't a decongestant (bad for mucus) but is some kind of antiseptic- I'm wondering whether this would be okay....

I found Evening Primrose Oil capsule had a fairly impressive effect on CM, used in first half of cycle only. I think kellymom website refers to this effect of EPO. Worth a try.

Hello - I am TTC and on 5th round of Clomid - (CD1 today) just taken my first couple of teaspoons full of Robitussin and wondered if anyone has any advice, anecdotes, tips on dosage etc? So I'm bumping this thread back up to the top.

I'd love to hear from you.

Thandeka · 28/04/2009 13:14

hello,
Thanks for bumping. I am back TTC after a MMC last weekend so will be back on the cough medicine. TBH I didnt notice a significant difference in EWCM but the month I fell (when I can't particularly remmebr what I did) I had lots of EWCM (unusual for me) so I do think the more EWCM the merrier the sperm are!

Good luck with the clomid.
