Hello,

As Nelix has a bfp (yay!) and she started the last one I thought I'd start this one as a continuation of this thread

Here's hoping we all get BFPs this month but if not then let's continue the thread until we all graduate

Hope you feel better soon Heeby

I have EWCM again today - not as much as yesterday, but combining that with how "friendly" I'm feeling, I think OV must be imminent - since I am away overnight tomorrow night, I'd better brush up on my seduction techniques tonight

I just cannot believe that my body is doing this so soon - mc was two weeks today and it looks like OV is gonna be either early or more or less right on schedule - is this a good omen ?

Am now quaking with fear and anticipation at the thought of being on a 2WW again.

I read somewhere the other day that pineapple and brazil nuts are good "implantation" foods because they contain Selenium - anyone heard of that one ? Am considering going out to buy some for lunch !!

smileycat · 25/11/2008 12:22

I was talking to DH last night & told him about some of the chats going on on this thread & others. I said that I feel really sorry for some of the ladies that have been trying for so long to get pg without any sucess & especially if its their 1st that they are trying for. I said to him at least we have one already & if it really doesn't work for us at least we have him. My DH said but I really really want one now, it was a good idea when we 1st started trying but as the months have gone on, I am finding now that I really want another child.
Bless him, its the 1st time he has really opened up to it all. I thought he was doing it to keep me happy fingers crossed for this month I would love to give him the best Xmas present ever, now that I know that he wants this baby as much as I do

spats · 25/11/2008 12:35

Glad no BD tongiht unless opk comes back pos. Need to do it at work but 4 hours without a toilet trip is quite a lot isn't it? x

smileycat · 25/11/2008 13:04

said I wasn't going to symptom spot this month, although its really hard not to when you have it in the back of your mind all the time when your on the 2WW. Feeling very very tired today & not tired because of the wkend, really heavy eyed no energy kind of tired & have a small pain where I have my scar from my op(c-section area) feels like its tight oh & very windy (tmi) Think I'll have an early night tonight & hopefully feel more with it tomorrow

Jools1 · 25/11/2008 13:07

I was laughing at myself this morning, as there is absolutely no way on earth I am PG at the mo - was still feeling low-level nausea on the way in to work today and surprising myself at the amount of times I get up to pee !!! Someone remind me of this next time I am symptom spotting !!!!!!!

Heebychick · 25/11/2008 15:41

jools ha ha at symptom spotting - bodies can play all sorts of tricks on us huh! i remember feeling yuk for ages after MC, and in answer to your OV'ing now i have a friend who MC and then her DD was concieved 2 weeks later so it can happen! good luck with whatever happens

smiley sounds promising, when will you test? i've lost track.

xxx

Deeja · 25/11/2008 15:46

Hey guys hope everybody is doing well.

Can I just ask any body who is using ovulation sticks - do you always catch your LH surge each month? Do you find them reliable?

Thanks

yellowflowers · 25/11/2008 16:23

Hi Deeja, for 2 months now I have got nothing on ovulation sticks other than test line except a line that wasn't quite dark enough just as I ovulated - on the day of ovulation in fact judging by other signs and temps, and a very faint line the next day. But no build up and no warning. I think I may not even bother with them this month.

BeckyMcG · 25/11/2008 16:44

Hello ladies, I've just been catching up on all the posts.
Try not to feel too down Cindy or anyone else. WRT older mum's - my mum had me at 45 and my sister had her three babies at age 20, 41 and 45 - what a gap!! I think it's down to positive mental attitude, how old you feel and your health. Cindy - it sounds like you're doing the right thing trying to lose weight if you need to. It's hard I know but you'll feel better too!

Deeja I used the sticks and sometimes managed to get a positive and sometimes didn't. Am not convinced they were that reliable. I think the temping method seems to be the highest recommended of my friends to predict ovulation.

I went with frequency however my main tip would be to try and keep the sex romantic. Even though we both knew we "had to have it" on certain days I still used massage oil and wore my sexy underwear sometimes - made sure it wasn't all about quickies and legs up!!

Pezzina · 25/11/2008 17:11

That's very good advice Becky How are you doing?

Deeja I only used the OPK sticks last month and they did work for me. They showed I OV'd later than anticipated and my temps backed it up. I'm not sure I will use them this month though as I now know what to look out for (CM and temps) and will keep up the BDing to at least every other day around possible OV time.

Although there is something addictive about peeing on a stick.... I may well give in and get some when the time approaches...

Deeja · 25/11/2008 17:53

Thanks Yellowflowers Becky and Pezzina, That's all good information. I think I might not bother next month. I think just listening to my body and watching for EWCM may be for me. It's a lot of money if it only works sometimes.

smileycat · 25/11/2008 18:11

Heeby I'm not due till Monday but I have a Christmas girls party on Monday evening so I'm tempted to test early if my temps haven't done a dip by then so that if I get a BFN I can have a few drinks to drown my sorrows & have a good time at the party. I guess I'll know over the wkend if its looking good my temps dropped 0.1 each day for 3 days leading upto AF last month so if its still high on Sunday I might test then or leave it till Monday morning if its looking a bit iffie

queenie1 · 25/11/2008 18:16

really sorry to hear AF appears to be on its way yellowflowers

To throw my two pennies worth in about OPK sticks...I used them last month but used a whole pack by CD14 and couldn't justify spending more money on more of them so I didn't bother. DH and I were talking of going to China for a holiday last night (in our dream world where we have loads of cash and also our way of dealing with failing on the ttc front) and I worked out that if I'd saved all the money I spent on PG tests, pregnacare supplements and OPK tests I would be half way there to affording the trip!!!! Remind me of that when I am tempted to buy half a dozen PG tests in the next few days!!!

Smileycat - it's so hard not to symptom spot isn't it...I've been wondering today. Feel very tired, swear to god my boobs feel fuller and look more veiny and I've had cramps and twinging down below too (for quite a few days now). But only CD23 and AF not due til this time next week. So the am I / aren't I games and agonies will continue...

xx

Deeja · 25/11/2008 18:33

I don't know, I know it's very self indulgent and early days at day 14 but I just don't feel very fertile this month. Probably sounds like a lot of nonsense....but last month I felt really up for it and had loads of EWCM. This month I'm grumpy, just keep producing creamy M and really am not in the mood. I don't think it's psychological - but maybe it is.

Well I really hope that we get some BFP's here soon...that will really cheer me up.

Queenie last month I cad my coil removed at day 12 and had had sex at day 10 and had sore boobs for the whole two weeks after and felt sick and really felt like I might be pregnant even though I knew I really couldn't be. Ones psyche plays a lot of tricks, or maybe I just go round normally just not noticing my body. A holiday to China sounds very exciting BTW. Went to Thailand for my honeymoon in September and it was a totally wonderful place. Not the same as China but heading in the right direction!

bigbaubleeyes · 25/11/2008 22:45

Deeja I also only used OPk for the 1st time this month, I used my 1st one on cd10 & got a +ive on cd13. I did another one on cd14 just incase to see if I was still fertile & it was -ive. It came in a box of 7 so now have 3 sticks left for next month (hope wont need them ). I now know my body clock alot better as I OV around cd13 to cd14 so next month I wont use one till cd12.
So you can use them to you advantage once you know your body a little better & get two months out of one box plus it really put my mind at rest this month knowing that I had actually OV'd & my temps backed it up

bigbaubleeyes · 26/11/2008 08:45

Thanks smiley cat for adding me - I'm doing at lot of reading to learn everything from you guys.

This is a lovely thread - it was nice to have so many welcomes from people. Finger crossed I am not buying my usual christmas bottle of ammaretto - heres wishing for a tin of ammarettie biscuits instead.

queenie1 · 26/11/2008 09:23

morning all.

Bigbaubleeyes - I used to have cycle lengths of about 30 days then after having miscarriages my cycle length has been a bit all over the place ranging from 25 - 35 days!! It seems to have regulated a bit over the past couple of months though at about 29 days. But who knows - hence the 'ish' on the list!!!

Don't know if I'm the right person for top ten tips. Perhaps Heeby or BeckyMcG (who have their BFPs now and are proof that all this ttc does not have to be in vain) are better placed on this?!!

Deeja - yes holiday does sound good doesn't it. If not PG by April then we may seriously go and book something really fancy. Honeymoon in Thailand sounds amazing. I went travelling there ten years ago and completely fell in love with it.

xx

Heebychick · 26/11/2008 09:55

Hi ladies,

smiley i have a good feeling about you this month, as you did for me last month.

bigbauble top ten tips eh?? well i'm no expert (it took me long enough this time round) but tips for TTC would be ...

1)Increase your CM - thus helping the lil' swimmers to survive a bit longer inside you, do this anyway you can - GFJ,Cough mixture, drink plenty, cut out anything that dehydrates you etc

  1. cut out alcohol totally - this helped with my CM i am sure

  2. cut down as much as you can on caffiene

  3. frequency - the top tip! make sure you keep at it every day over your window of opportunity - see the Deena Plan.

  4. try not to stress - it WILL happen and the more you worry the less easy it will be to enjoy the practice

  5. eat well & safely

  6. stay away from medications as much as you can

  7. take pregnancy supplements, before during and after obviously

  8. give your partner/husband vitamins or good veggies - zinc and iron helps towards healthy sperm apparently

  9. enjoy the practice and don't turn it into a technical must-have - nothing worse for killing the mood

Hope that helps x

queenie1 · 26/11/2008 10:12

Brilliant Heeby - thanks v much! I need to work on 2, 4 and 5 in particular...

x

bigbaubleeyes · 26/11/2008 10:12

Heeby - This is great I really appreciate you putting this list together I am printing it off and sticking it to fridge DH can get with the program too!!!

VillageMum · 26/11/2008 10:46

Thanks for the list Heeby! Deeja, I use OPK sticks (cheapies from ebay) and agree that it's a real pain trying to catch the surge - it can seemingly come from nowhere so you have to test at the right time; early mornings are no good, late morn to afternoon is better. Last month I tested at 6.30am when I normally get up and nada - but knew ov was due pretty soon so tested again at 12 noon same day and hey presto! Positive OPK. Personally I'll be very glad when all this weeing on sticks and BBT stuff is behind me!

yellowflowers · 26/11/2008 11:20

wow - all good advice there.
I am pretty sure my spotting has become period, but is anyone here a temping expert and can you help me?

My base line is low - 36.15 - according to Fertility Friend, though in the pre ovulation phase of my cycle it was up and down a lot. On the day of ovulation it was 36.1 and the day after it was 36.24 rising after that to 36.52. So it rose post ovulation as it should, with temp rise coming day after ewcm so all signs came as they should, and has been up and down between 36.30 and 36.70 since.

Anyway, on Sunday it was 36.51 so relatively high then dipped on Mon which is when spotting started to 36.35. Yesterday I was still spotting and it was 36.36 and today I think spotting becoming light period but it's gone up marginally to 36.38.

This is my first month temping so I am confused but is temp meant to go to below cover line when period starts and should I read anything into it going up marginally today?

Anyway, Today is probs cd1 realisitically.

OP posts:
smileycat · 26/11/2008 11:29

yellow I've read somewhere, probably FF that temps normally drop before AF or the day AF is due, but some woman don't get a drop & others have high temps during AF, I think you need to use this month as a comparison for next month as every woman is different. Mine stayed high until 3 days before AF then it dropped 0.1 every day till AF arrived
