Hello,

As Nelix has a bfp (yay!) and she started the last one I thought I'd start this one as a continuation of this thread

Here's hoping we all get BFPs this month but if not then let's continue the thread until we all graduate

this is now my 2nd month of temping & my temps are doing something similar this month at this stage as they did last month give or take 0.1/0.2

C1NDY · 26/11/2008 12:05

Deeja VillageMum Jools Heeby thanks for all your kind words...oh and BeckY and anyone else I have missed off the list.. .I am feeling much better now. I had the most awful headache yesterday but am feeling much better now - so thanks.

Jools goush three of us at 39, makes me feel much better.

Spats DP is very hard work.. I have a 28 day cycle so its not too bad but it is chore after a while.

SmileyC@t Fingers and toes crossed to you and of course babydust to all the wonderful ladies on her too... Like you I am trying for a second baby and my DH is so keen, thats why I am getting a little frastrated this month!! but my time will come ... I know it ~:0)

Deeja My OPk sticks where weird this month, they showed a day later than I expected. But I do think they are good at predicting the LH surge. I am no good at temping as my DD gets up sometimes at 4 or 5 or 6 in the morning and I always forget to take the temp before getting out of bed - do'h ... so decided to not use it. Using OPK with CM checking is a really good indicator when your most fertile period is.

yellowflowers · 26/11/2008 12:29

thanks smileycat - I am so impatient but you are right - I need this month as a comparison month.

Hi cindy - aaaargh - I totally empathise. In 8 days we have to start the every other day bding of the deanna plan - boring!

Pezzina · 26/11/2008 12:59

Yellowflowers my temp started to drop the day before AF arrived then went up 0.2oC! but today has gone back down towards my coverline. I think temps can sometimes be a bit erratic during AF.

VillageMum · 26/11/2008 13:15

Cindy, glad you're feeling better! Just hang in there... x

BoosieBoo · 26/11/2008 13:48

Hi everyone,
Sorry I haven't posted in an age, but things have been a bit manic with DS starting nursery and me going back to work. I have been checking in every so often, this is a really lovely thread, just wish I had time to post more.

Anyway... I am now 10 DPO. Started off with the DP, but that basically went out the window and and i think we BD'd every day between CD8 to 2 days after ov (my opk went +ve on eve of CD13). I don't quite know how we managed it - especially as I have a stinking cold now! Also used pre-seed for what it's worth.

Am going to test on Sunday. Have no idea which way it will go - no symptoms at all this month, but we definitely gave it our all! If not then some extra bubbly at xmas to make up for it.

Just wanted to say to Jools - I got pregnant with DS straight after I had a m/c at 6 weeks, so it can be done - good luck x

BeckyMcG · 26/11/2008 14:49

All the sites say - as Heeby's advice - cut out alcohol and caffine. While I know that this is the right thing to do I'm afraid to say I didn't do this so I wouldn't feel too guilty girls. I was really reluctant to 'put my life on hold' before I got a BFP. Of course now with my miscarriage history I have cut out caffine and alcohol completely. I also did cut down a bit on the 2 ww but certainly didn't cut it out. If I hadn't have got a BFP after Xmas then I was going to make some lifestyle changes at that point. Depends how much your life revolves around alcohol I suppose - sadly it forms quite a basis for my social life!!
Also - it took me over 6 months of trying before my BFP and I know many people who have spent at least 4 or 5 months trying so to those who are only one cycle one or two - that's perfectly normal!!

BeckyMcG · 26/11/2008 14:51

P.s. for those dreading a social life without vino - I've actually not found it too bad. My tipsy girlfriends are quite funny and as long as the event also involves food I've found I don't miss drinking as much as I had thought and have a laugh anyway. I might be saying something else in 8 months

Jools1 · 26/11/2008 15:47

Thanks for the encouragement BoosieBoo All I want for Xmas is a BFP !!!!

No bedroom activity last night as I was feeling headachey and having another wobble about perhaps losing weight before TTC. I'm now fairly certain I haven't ov'ed yet, but do think that what I was seeing and experiencing is the final bit of the MC, so hopefully my cycle will get back in gear very soon. Still a faint positive on an HPT this morning - isn't it sad when I'm not happy to see a BFP !!

My cycle is usually 29 days like clockwork, with OV on CD16, so it is really wierd not knowing where I am CD16 post MC today, but I'm guessing that I'm maybe on day 3 or 4 of a proper cycle, so will work on that basis I think - can't think of anything better than having to find excuses not to drink over Xmas !

Re alcohol and caffeine - I've only ever had a cup of tea in the morning and, if at work, one coffee when I arrive. I'd not been drunk in ages - the most I'd really had from August was 2 or 3 wines on a Friday night and maybe one or two during the week. The weekend before I miscarried, I had a small glass of wine to celebrate my birthday and probably had more caffeine than usual as we were in an out of coffee shops whilst on hols in Cornwall - I can't shake off the "what if" thoughts in my head, so won't be touching one single drop of caffeine or alcohol if I'm luck enough to get PG again

Right, essay over - back to work

queenie1 · 26/11/2008 16:14

Jools - don't beat yourself up about the potential damage of one glass of wine or a few coffees more than 'you should'. My gynaceologist at the recurrent miscarriage clinic was very reassuring about all this. He said the emphasis is moderation but as people treat / understand that differently, they urge on the side of extreme caution in their advice. His words to me were to not put your life on hold as it could make you more stressed out and to do things moderately / sensibly. So I have one coffee when I wake up and allow myself about five glasses of wine over the week. This is while ttc. If PG would reduce more but don't think complete abstinence is always necessary.

What happened with you happened and it was NOTHING to do with what you may or may not have done (after all crackheads have babies!!)

Good luck with ttc over the next month. I too want a BFP for christmas (as I think everyone else on this thread!!!)

xxx

smileycat · 26/11/2008 17:35

ooooh yes please a Christmas BFP would be better than any Xmas present ever

Deeja · 26/11/2008 17:45

Well thank you to everybody for feedback on the ovulation sticks. I think perhaps I wasn't very good at holding out for 4 hours before using them....but I have to say if you are trying to keep liquid intake up so you have good EWCM then it's a bit hard. Then again I didn't get the other signs of ovulation so I'm not sure what was going on.

I may get some of the cheaper sort from e-bay.

Queenie it is hard to know whether to book holidays when you don't know how you are going to feel at that point. Yes Thailand still ace...would definately go back - when we can afford it.

Heeby really great list - I think that I may be refering to it quite a lot.

I also like wine and have not been totally cutting it out...and have had 1 coffee a day. I thought latest government information was there was no evidence for a link between a small intake of alcahol and problems in pregnancy. Jools I totally agree with Queenie that you didn't do anything that would have changed the outcome that you had.

On a totally different note I read with interest that if men sit in a cold bath 30 minutes before sex it will make their sperm very active (or at least there is a small amount of evidence for this). I really doubt that DH would do this for me....but he is training for a marathon and sitting in cold bath is good for reducing swelling in his legs - so if I can only tempt him into the bedroom after training then I might be onto a winner.

Do you think you fellas would sit in a cold bath to increase your chances?

Deeja · 26/11/2008 17:50

Oh yes BFP very nice Christmas present....but I'm not too hopeful for me - but I would be happy conceiving over Christmas too. That would be nice. The new year would be a happy one to say the least.

Elliegant · 26/11/2008 18:29

Hi all,

Just trying to catch up with all the posts, not been able to drop in for a couple of days .

Pezzina and Yellowflowers sorry AF got you, I am still holding out but pretty sure it will come tonight as I have cramps and feel really bloated but still silently praying it wont.. Very proud of myself for resisting testing.

Elliegant · 26/11/2008 20:23

Well... thats it Af had arrived and I am truly gutted, how can I not be pregnant be after all that BDing

Am sitting here trying not to burst into tears. As others have said I am worried that my age is against me, I am 38. It took nearly 2 years ttc ds1 when I was 34, not sure how I will cope if it takes that long again.

Probably wont seem so bad tomorrow (I hope) so going to have an early night.

Heebychick · 26/11/2008 20:37

I guess my main reason for giving up the alcohol and caffiene was the noticable difference it made with CM, i thought it was probably making me dehydrated. I work in the wine industry so is quite hard to quit!!

elligant poor you honey, the first day is always the worse and like you say with all that effort how can it not happen, very unfair, but don't lose heart, have a big bad glass of wine and try to be positive xx

LovelyMonster · 26/11/2008 21:07

Hello ladies, I am back!!!

Recognise most names, not sure if you remember me (????). Been ttc #1 for about 18months. Had mc at 5 weeks in october. We both feel obviously devestated but very positive about the whole experience as happy things evidently can 'get up there'.

Have been in limbo ever since thou as have have constant spotting (six weeks). Seen in epu last week as was right fed up. They rescanned and nothing there but took bloods to check hcg levels. Turned out still have hcg levels (god knows what the hell is happening) and advised me to come back again this week to recheck.

Am now very pleased to report (probably the one and only time!) that normal af has arrived! And with a bang! Has never been so painful. Took all painkillers (legally)known to man but had to wait until dh got home from work at 11.30pm as the only thing that ever works is dh's bottom (which exudes heat) pressed up against my tummy. oh la la - heaven (its a lovely bottom).

So now ladies.... I am back in the ttc game (the joy it is in all). So if you are prepared to put up with all my moaning I would love to put up with yours!!!!

So will you have me back..............(cheeky smile)........?

bigbaubleeyes · 27/11/2008 07:19

I went and did an early test this morning it was negative.

Girls this is the first month we really checked dates and stuff so I did have my hopes up a bit When we conceived DS we were very lucky - it was just one weekend that did it.

I tested because I have been sympton spotting had little twinges down below, seemed to be at loo a bit yesterday (even though its too early for that I think) and have felt nauscious (sp?) a few time when food was cooking.

It is still possible to test again and get a positive though isnt it.

Anyway I have the power of Heebychicks list and all the other great avice on here next month.

Oh I feel all forlorn but Good Morning everyone too.

smileycat · 27/11/2008 08:09

bigbauble naughty you, its way to early for you to be testing, it only puts you on a downer, keep those legs crossed hunny & wait till at least Sunday/Monday to test again as you are not due till Tues?? I think

Welcome back lovelymonster i remember your name because i thought it sounds like my DD most of the time! sorry to hear about your MC, i had a MC at the same stage in May and it really threw me for a few months.

Hi yellow i hope you can celebrate christmas day with no Af and a BFP, how wonderful would that be!
