Implantation bleed? NEED ADVICE!!

cross posted as need advice.

used OPK & got + last Saturday/Sunday, felt sharp twingy/cramps on Monday (so guessed this was O).

that would make me approx 8dpo yesterday. When i went to the loo yesterday evening, i had a smear of bright red stained cm. then nothing more.

today, i've had a little brown stained cm when i wipe. nothing red. have sore bbs, but this could be the case for pg or af!

IS this the start of AF? Very early though? would make for a short lp?

COULD it be implantation bleed?

please share experiences...

I've had an implantation bleed with both of my pregnancies. They were both very similar to what you have just described + period-like cramps.

ooh, thanks for reply, am trying not to clutch at straws though...

did hpt two days ago and got bfn, but would have only been 6dpo!!!

am i right in thinking you can only get a bfp on hpt when there is a placenta (as it's the placenta that makes the hcg thats detected]. so unless implantation has happened, it will be bfn.

I've had implantation bleed both times and really bad cramps with this latest one (now 9weeks pregnant with #2). My midwife said it's normal and unless cramping is accompanied by red bleeding there's nothing to worry about. 1st time around I also had bleeding at time of my period the next month. Every time this happened we got an extra scan to check everything was ok. Everything turned out fine and we have a lovely boy now just over 2yrs.

FKelly when did you get implantation bleed? i had bleed with ds1 at 8 weeks, they said that may have been implantation...i'm only 8/9dpo!

Both my implantation bleeds happened at around 6 1/2 weeks and lasted for a couple of days.

I really hope you get the outcome that you want

Hi Dinky,

I had an implantation bleed with this pregnancy (Am currently 10 + 6).

I started bleeding very late at night on 6dpo, it was a few drops of bright red - followed by about 5 days of brown bleeding, that got heavier before it settled down. I got (eventuallly) a BFP at 10DPO

The night before my BFP, I sat on the sofa next to my DH sobbing because I thought AF was starting

My implantation bleeds both times have been when I expected my period... about 2 weeks after ovulation and it lasted for nearly a week... My cycle is a bit irregular so it's difficult to pin down exactly most months I have a 26 day cycle and I get a small cramp pain in my hip when I ovulate which changes left/right depending on which side is doing it... about 12 days after the first day of my last period. but annoyingly some months ovulation my is later/earlier... so I had little success with OTK... I never got a smiley face and in the end it happened anyway. A home PTK will not show you're pregnant until after implantation... then the hormone builds up, the more days after implantation the stronger the hormone and more likely you are to get a positive pregnancy result.

In my first pregnancy i continued to bleed a weird coloured light period at the time of my period for about 3 or 4 months. I also had other little bleeds at any time... The scans showed I had a pool of blood between the placenta and the uterine wall and they thought that was the cause. They said it would prob be absorbed into the placenta as it grew... this is exactly what happened.

Although it didn't stop me getting worried everytime the bleeding started! We lost count of all the extra scans we got... as everytime I started to bleed they wanted me in to check it out! Which was worrying but also great seeing DS develop

By the way I'm a newbie to terminology... what BFP and DPO?

ok, so i'm now 10/11dpo. had that little bleed on tuesday eve (bright red, approx a tea spoon?)then had brown cm on wednesday, nothing on thruday, but had another bright red bit in the eve, not much though, then nothing today...?????

AF arrived late last night in full force. did hpt this morning with fmu which was bfn. guess that's it then...on to next month. just one question though: when should i count cd1 as? tuesday when had first bleed? or friday when started heavy?

Ahhh Dinky....so sorry to hear AF started

It's a tricky one deciding which day to count as d1. I'm not sure which one I'd choose. To hedge your bets how about running the 2 dates and going for it for whole time from just b4 1st date to after the 2nd date? lol... bit exhausting but worth a shot?!

Have you a regular cycle that enables you to work out when DPO could be?
