very faint line on a clear blue?

Im due on either sunday or monday, just taken a test with a clear blue, and it wasnt first morning urine, its come up with a faint line going up on the bottom half of the window. Any ideas anyone, I feel pregnant, this will be my fifth pregnancy if I am so I can kinda tell the signs, I have incredibly bad heartburn, metallic taste, boiling hot, sense of taste and smell has gone mental.

I'm gonna do another test tomorrow, but I think it could be a positive, as soon as I did the test there was a faint line on the left hand side of the bottom bit, but as 10 mins has gone by the line has become slightly darker just at the bottom.

Help please!!!!

Usually any line is a positive - my pg test was the faintest line ever, but it was positive! I think congratulations might be in order!

I have to say-it sounds very promosing....after 2 negatives i had a very faint positive...and it turned out to be twins!

I've just done an early response one though cos I wanted to confirm it and its come back negative. So I'm proper peed off now.

The second test was presumably not with FMU. If you are testing before AF is due you need to use FMU. The fact you got a line (albeit faint) with Clear Blue is a pretty good indicator that you are pregnant.

I still think congratulations are in order.

I would wait till you were late and do a first response with morning wee.

I used a clear blue, it started off almost invisible, a slight half line in the corner then in the 10 to 20 mins after that it get stronger, but the clear blue test says after 10 mins if the test changes it is not accurate, but as soon as I took the test I can see a very faint part of the line and it got stronger over the next 20mins, so I'm thinkin should I ignore that. Then I took an early response one but I had been the loo loads since then and had loads of tea in my system so I'm thinking could that have diluted it, to give me a neg?? Oh I dont know but my other half is gutted now since I got a negative earlier.

Try and put it to the back of your mind (i know its hard) but wait until monday if no AF then test with first morning wee.

FMU = First Morning Urine. If you are not sure to have your period until Monday then you need to test with very concentrated urine. Your second test was, as you say, after several cups of tea which will have diluted any pregnancy hormone in your body.

Yeh the clear blue, I had a wee at about 7am when I got up then I went and got the test at about 10.30am and it gave me a bit of a line, then I had about 3 cups of tea and five trips to the loo before taking a first response one....????

When you did the clear blue..did you read the response after 2-3 mins (or however long it takes these days?)

I would say this is still a high chance that you may be pregnant.

I do but its a cheap one. I am going chemist now to get the same test that gave me a positive and I'm going to do it tomorrow morning with my first wee, as both times today it hasnt been with the first morning wee. I have just looked at the clear blue with a faint but clear line on the bottom half of the window and I am thinking why would it show a line at all if I wasnt pregnant? But then I think how can I then a few hours later take a test with a early response which is supposed to be able to detect hcg 6 days before your period when the clear blue is 4 days and yet that gives me a negative??

Because of your drinks - dilutes the hormone. Another test first thing tomorrow morning should be clearer. Good luck!

I think everyone agrees that you don't usually get any line if you're not PG! Wait til the morning, and then take the new test with FMU! I think you might have a positive result.

Good luck and remember it's all looking good so far!! Don't worry about the BFN! Loads of people get false ones of those, but it's very rare to get a false positive!

But I'm thinking the result became more clearer over 20 minutes or so so maybe the test was affected by something? I mean I have done lots of pregnancy tests before and usually when its a negative its a negative, theres no line and it doesnt change from no line to a line like an hour or so after. I noticed a small part of a line as soon as I took the test but it took a good 20 minutes for a line to be really clear without having to go cross eyed or anything!!!

I dunno, its doing my head in. I've drank about 10 pints of milk in the last few days too and I never touch milk!!!

Fedup - be reassured that you got part of the line coming up straight away. You're testing early and the PG hormones do need to be concentrated in urine for a positive at this stage.

Don't worry tonight, try to relax and chill out! I know you and DH want to know...but the morning will come soon enough.

Tests will get darker sometimes, think it depends on how wet with wee they get!

If you can't wait til morning then 4 hours is needed after last drinking and weeing before you can test again.

You should get a clearer result in the morning...

Thank you, I will try but I am now talking myself out of doing the test tomorrow incase it shows another negative cos with me not being due on till sun/mon I will convince myself that I could still be pregnant but that it was just too soon, so I am thinking why dont I just leave it and see if I get my period but I think I will scream if I have to wait much longer.

I remember having all this after I miscarried and was pregnant with my son and I kept jumping the gun and taking the tests too early, I was pregnant like but I got a few negatives first and the waiting and wondering is just awful isnt it?

Oh also want to point out the FR wording and packaging is sneaky! It's not actually much more sensitive than the CB ones. It markets as being 6 days before....but actually before you are over due. I think there's about a day in it between the two and your tea drinking was probably the result of the BFN.

Thanks for being so helpful, I took a first response on Tuesday, when I was 5/6 days away from period, it was neg, then another first response on weds, again neg, then a clear blue today with a faint half liner and then after another first response which produced a negative so not a bloody clue whats going on.

I am gonna try not to think about it now, have made my other half stay away for the night as seeing him just reminds me all the more!!

Fedup - Your poor DP, although I do understand. I actually think you are PG, but it's still very early...I think you'll get better positives Sunday and Monday, but you'll probably get one tomorrow morning too. I have a real dislike for FR...just a personal thing and trust CB way more.
