Advice on pg test needed please!!

Did one this morning. No line appeared in the control window, but I got a horizontal line in the result box - which of course means not pg.
Is this an accurate result, given there was no line in the control box?
Am getting period like symptoms - am due today/tomorrow. Could these maybe be pg symptoms or am I clutching at straws?
Any advice would be much appreciated.

If there's no line in the Control window, my understanding is that it's not an accurate result. There has to be a line in the Control window for it to be valid.

if the line in the control window did not appear, then you should discard the test. it might mean you have not got an accurate result. do you have another test to hand? early pregnancy and pre menstrual symptoms often very similar

Thanks all. Will wait till tomorrow and try again. It was a Clearblue test.
