Evaporation lines and Asda tests - Am I pregnant?!!!

I just wondered if anyone had ever used an asda own brand test, have it come up as negative in the allotted time, and then when you go to put it in the bin 6 hours later notice that it is now positive! What the hell does that mean? I only did the test as I was feeling queasy today and didn't really think about it. I have another one but don't want to use it up if I don't have to. I have no idea when my period is due, I am away from home without my diary but I am feeling slightly pmt-ish.

I would wait until the morning and do a test with the first wee of the day and only pay attention to it within 5mins of the test being done.

Is there a chance you might be pg, have you been planning it?

No planning at all! Have been a bit lapse and had unprotected sex at beginning of month (like a couple of days after my period) so I imagine it is seriously unlikely. We do use the withdrawal method which I know is pretty rubbish as contraception goes and we did have a near miss (or hit?!) last week. It would not be the end of the world, but I am now just confused by the test.

Sounds likely you could be pregnant then. Test again now (I wanna know!) if your period was at the end of the month last time it sounds like you're late?

I want to know too! I sound so dappy but I really have no idea when my period last was. It was at least 3 weeks ago as I have been away from my house for 3 weeks without my diary! I have a ridiculously long cycle (sometimes 40 days) though, that's why I did the test because at least every couple of months I convince myself I am pregnant, pee on a stick, and then curse myself for having wasted a fiver in asda. I am going to call my dh and ask him to dig out the diary and if I have beaten my cycle record of 40 days then out comes the second pee stick. Promise to post as soon as I have done it!

How many dc do you already have? Would you be happy if you were pg?

I have two, 3 and a bit and 20 months. To be honest I love the idea of 3, I am just low on energy at the mo and the past 20 months have been v hard work and I am just beginning to come out the other side. No news from dh yet!

right, according to dh, am on day 28 so I think I may wait a bit longer, perhaps friday till I test again, although knowing my patience levels I will back on here tomorrow with a result!

I've tested in the past and it's been negative, I've snuck a peek at it in the bin the next morning and it's been positive - I cacked myself as I'd been taking pills that could potentially cause birth defects and my husband thought I was joking when I said it was positive, until I threw the stick across the bed for him to see, then he was wearing the same look as me! Luckily I wasn't pregnant then at all, I was just reading it too late and now off the pills so bring that positive on. (a desperate sounding) PLEASE!! Tell us how you got on, the suspense kills ;)
