If you chart with Fertility Friend has it ever got your ov day wrong?

Hi all,
I've been TTC#2 for 16 months and have been temping and charting on FF for the last 6 cycles.

Every cycle has been consistent - ov on day 19, LP of 11 days. Blood tests confirmed this. I really recognise my own symptoms when I ovulate now - EWCM and some pain.

Anyway, this month it said I ov'd on day 19. This matched with my temps and symptoms.

But then, 5 days later it 'readjusted itself' and now says I ov'd on day 24. I had had a temp rise at day 19/20 and then a more obvious one at day 24.

I know of course that some months you can just randomly ovulate later but I wondered if FF ever got your ov day wrong?

If the original ov day is right then my period is now a day late with a LP of 12 days.

Yes it got mine wrong on the month I conceived dd2. The temperatures were not at all clear, it was a weird month, so I thought I hadn't ovulated. Also, it was the only month I didn't have a surge on the ovulation predictor.
How are you today?
If I were you, I would mentally convince myself that I ovulated on the later date, and then only test on the day AF was due then, ie cd 36.

Thanks so much for replying - your experience sounds the same as mine. No surge on the OPK and it's been a weird month.

Also, normally after I've ovulated I get sore boobs right the way through til AF arrives. This month - nothing. Boobs feel fine!

I've also had quite a lot of cramps which convinced me AF was on its way but it hasn't arrived.

I think I'm clutching at straws hoping that FF is wrong and hoping that I'm pregnant.

I have to confess to doing a test this morning which of course was a BFN.

So now I'm adopting the approach you suggest. I'm so sure that I won't be pregnant - as more and more months pass I'm convinced there's a real problem (despite tests all coming back fine) - so it's not that hard to mentally convince myself.

Nappyhead, FertilityFriend never got my ov day right, well, actually it did for a time this month (CD16) but then changed it to CD14 and then CD20! The reason for this with me is that I seem to have a consistently delayed temperature shift 3 days after I ovulate.

If you know all your signs then it's likely you are right and fertility friend is wrong, but it's really only possible to say with hindsight.

I had started wondering if FF was right and me wrong, as I was having no luck. But this month I got a BFP and as we only had sex over one weekend I know that my ov signs (EWCM and pain) were right and the temp shift happened late.

I was soooo sure that I was right about my ov day, but now that I have no AF, a BFN and my boobs aren't sore at all, I'm thinking FF is right and I am wrong.

I guess only time will tell - which is so frustrating!!

Hi there - thanks again for replying. Still no AF. Still no symptoms either. FF says I should test tomorrow so I guess I'll do that but I really can't believe that I will be pregnant.

I'm so used to the disappointment now that I just think I've had a weird month and it will be back to CD1 soon.

Hi again - so I've just tested and it's BFN.

I'm either 16 dpo if my ovulation day is right or 12 dpo is FF's is right. Either way I've never had a LP longer than 11 days.

Still no hint of AF.

I'll have to keep waiting and trying not to drive myself bonkers.

How's the madness today?

Still mad! No AF. I haven't tested again. If I'm beng honest I have no pregnancy symptoms - though I am desperately tring to imagine them!!

I just think that something weird is happening this month. I'm now on CD37 - the longest I've had since I started charting 6 months ago is 31 days.

If Af continues to stay away I don't really know what to do. Perhaps test again in a couple of days?

Just dipping in to offer up a theory ... it is not a very hopeful one, so feel free to ignore

A couple of times over the past few months, I've been a few days late and convinced I was PG. Each time, after I actually tested and got the BFN, AF arrived only a couple of hours later - I really believe that the body is the cruellest symptom spotter / creator and can delay AF to give hope. In my case, I am certain that seeing the BFN and realising / accepting it caused the artificial, psychological AF delay to melt away and things to get back to normal ...

Hi Jools - I think you are right. I don't actually think I am pregnant but then where is AF?!

I tested again this morning - now on CD38 - still BFN but still getting v. high temps.

I'm really frustrated more than anything. I can live with the disappointment of a BFN but I just wish I knew what my body was doing.
