Period pain....................but not due on for another 6 -9 days or so

hubby and i have been trying for the last 2 weeks or so, having period pains at the moment, sore bbs, and a slight brown discharge, did a pg test last week but it was negative, but reading these threads i guess that could have been way too early. what do u think, when should i test?? i have 2 first response tests at home ready to go!!!

I wouldn't test yet. Those early tests are not 100% accurate, and you could just be wasting your money.

I always waited until I was one or two days late, then hopefully you should get an accurate result.

I agree completely with Belgo.
With 6-9 days to go you could well get a false negative. Or worse, you could get a BFP but for the egg to then fail to implant properly (as has happened to me) and that is a real rollercoaster.

If you can bear to wait, it is really worth it as then you can be much more sure of the result.
FWIW, I do think that the "period pain" type symptoms can be a good sign.

I have my fingers crossed for you.

the asda and sainsbury's own brand ones are most sensitive. with those you can sometimes get a positive result at 6dpo.

Just saw your thread to drop in and say that I had exactly what you've got and it was an Implantation bleed. A week later I got a BFP.

My Implantation started with browny CM and period type pains. The pains were worse in the morning and lasted about three days and there was some brown spotting for a couple of days, but they were literally just spots.

Unfortunately my PG didn't work out so I'm now TTC again as I had an MC 2 weeks ago.

BUT - I don't want to build up your hopes but it definitely sounds like you've having an Implantation bleed!!

ooh, thanks guys, sounds good!! i'll hang on as long as poss til testing, its hard to imagine i might be pg cos it does feel like period pain, but the bit of spotting is def diff than i normally get before a period!!

Believe me Clairey, it definitely felt like AF pains to me aswell!! I really thought my AF was coming a week early so was really confused when I got a bit of brown spotting but no real blood!!

I would say hold off another week before testing though, I tested the day before AF was due and got a very clear BFP. Also my (.)(.) got quite painful the few days after the implantation bleed which I knew was odd because I don't even get pains there before or during AF!!

I'll try and wait til the weekend, sunday or something before testing, that'll be pretty much when AF due!!

jst saw this thread and thought i would get your opinions we have be ttc #3 by my dates should have ov about 4/5 days ago. just been to loo and when i wiped was some brownish discharge no pains abpart from have a little back ache. could this be implantation bleeding never had with my other 2 dc. my period due 7/8 days when would be the earlest i could do a test?

i have a question as well. is days past ovulation the same or different to days past conception?

just had a wave of nausea feeling........part of me wonders if i'm trying to feel these things...........!!

Keeping my fingers crossed for you, i am also on the dreaded 2ww and am due my AF around Sunday. i have also had v sore nipples, and tummy cramps but I am on chlomid to help me ovulate and these symptoms are also side effects from the chlomid so dont want to get my hopes up!!

Hi Claire i am staring to get a few twinges too and am really praying it's not my AF!!!! Aaaah isnt all of this so stressful ha ha!! I never realised how many symptoms my body has!!

i know, i keep dreading going to the loo incase the dreaded AF is there going to do a test on friday morning, its hard waiting though!!!

Just to let you know, when I had my Implantation bleed, the cramps started on the Sunday afternoon and then each morning from Monday to Wednesday, easing off in the afternoon. Then didn't really have much after that, until I got the BFP of course , then I starting having twinges you'd never have thought imaginable!! But I was imagining most of them I think - drove my DH up the wall!!

Thanks Dawn have already confessed this on the other thread . . . . . i have done a test this morning, yes i know im not even due till sunday but couldnt wait!! Anyway it was a BFN and am still getting AF pains , so will do another test after the weekend if still no AF!!

I sooooooooooo want to be PG right NOW!!!!!

i tested yesterday, got a BFN, but think it was too early, had some bleeding this morning when wiped (bout 8am) but nothing since......still having AF pains........i want to be pg too

aaw i know its awful isnt it!!

Well im not gonna test again until at least Sunday??!! Well im gonna try not to!!

well, after the small bleed yesterday morning, nothing all day or night, no AF pains today (have been having them for last 3-4 days) did a test this morn............BFN, what u reckon?? had my last AF on about 27/28 July.

.............just been to loo, brown discharge when wiped............still no AF pain today (when i am on AF i have really bad pain) so confused

more brown discharge when i went loo 5 mins ago too............whats going on??!!

i dunno claire, how long is ur cycle usually??
I have started spotting a tiny bit today and have af pains but am sure its my AF now

Isn't it terrible when you have to keep going to the loo to check your knickers lol

just been reading your thread with interest & I have heard some people get the spotting around the same time AF is due & then on week 8 & 12 of pregnancy so you never know.Don't give up hope yet.Also have read on other threads that it can sometimes take days to get a BFP so don't get too disheartened.
